I'll give you one better and post the entirety of what I have for my 1st revision of the story, which currently amounts to maybe less than 1/10th of its eventual length. Enjoy.

There was nothing. There may never have been anything, and there may never be anything again. It was all the same to the primordial black sea, which sloshed and churned and filled every crevice and corner of nothingness with elysiastical numbness. This was that one climactic inch past the event horizon, the one last morphine hit in the dark, the crushing embrace of water at the bottom of the frozen lake. This was everything there had to be. The sea was content to stretch on into infinite horizons, though this was the sort of infinity that could be bounded to a space of 1500 centimeters cubed by four white walls and a dome. Some infinities, after all, were smaller than others. This one, to complete the metaphor, was about the size of a human skull.
But he–never bother who–didn’t mind. He-never-bother was nothing. He never had to be anything again. It was the kind of sleep one did not wake up from.
Then suddenly, he was awake, and the world was a blur of blinding cyan light. There was a rush, a sort of sucking sound of liquid draining away around him. Instinctively, his neurons fired to make him blink, and he did something comparable to that, at least until the digital display in front of him came into view. It read:
1006 θ - “Wakeup” Complete
Designated Assignment: Hull Repair
Running on instinct as he was, his center of thought recognized the words but could not process them. It was very much like waking up from a dream in which you were falling for a long, long time– or, perhaps, entering into one. Once again, he tried to blink until he could recognize his surroundings.

It was the first coherent thought he had, and the absurdity of it seemed to knock him out of his trance just as well as a slap to the face–that, plus the fact that he could not for the life of him remember what an egg was.
He was referring to the rows and rows of pods, just like his own, which lined the walls in the huge, cavernous hangar in which he found himself. Each of their digital displays showed a 4-digit number in blue text, and all the pods he could see were marked with the symbol “θ”.
A designation! Freshly born, if that’s what you call it, and he already had a name: 1006 θ. The first moments of a fresh mind are very important. Perhaps not for babies, whose first moments only really determine how loudly they cry for the first few minutes or so, but to someone like 1006, a bad greeting could spoil his mood for his entire visit to this mortal coil. To his newborn sensibilities, a designation–a name–was the greatest gift he could ever have received. And so, his fresh mind was seeded with unbounded optimism

so i have a theory
Zero’s backstory is going to be important with this new album. I’ve always been fascinated by how, in universe, spg has been making music since like. i think since before recorded music you could listen to in your own home was commonplace (don’t quote me on that tho). but like theres a TON of spg music that exist in universe. like theres probably lost spg songs on like. wax cylinders or whatever. theres Steam Man Band records collecting dust in countless attics. And Zero’s entire backstory explores this idea, with him having a fondness for motown records, to him having had his own career for awhile, to now.I’ve always wanted an album where the gimmick is like THE STEAM MAN BAND’S GREATEST HITS because spg is really good at making music that SOUNDS old.
and i know im not going to get Charlie’s Immaculately Researched Musical Hour like im not expecting that, I don’t even think i want that. but considering the album title is the year the bots were built, they’re clearly going for the lore angle, so i think it’d be really fun to get songs that are like. from the past. like theres so much potential
also on the spine’s old askblog he mentioned in the 1990s, in the whirlwind of pop acts and marketing gimmicks, the bots had a song that iirc was called World of Magic? I will not rest until i get to hear that song

aaah thanks, people have been so into it, it makes me really happy! rn im procrastinating on making a t-shirt bc the fabric keeps curling up and black is hard to work with bc i cant see what im doing. this shirt doesnt have to be perfect tho since the character has an outer shirt that usually covers up some of what his shirt says in a lot of shots it looks like it says SJW which is fantastic

well ive been planning my d&d character but i cant get too in depth bc i need to go over everything with the rest of the party + the dm. so ive just been imagining alt outfits for her because if the american girl franchise taught me anything its that you cant have too many outfits for your character. ive been also lazily watching buzzfeed unsolved bc that show is like? not a guilty pressure but like. a garbage pleasure. like i dont think of it of being high quality necessarily but if you put it on i’ll watch it
