Was talking to some friends about good use of 3DCG in anime (because everyone is clowning on that recent dancing anime) and besides stuff like Macross, whatever Sunrise is doing recently and Sky Crawlers, Yukikaze was also mentioned. And now I'm really thinking about reading the novels because its pacing did not feel adequate enough to flesh out the world building, or at least I was not satisfied. It should have been longer but regardless, it's a unique sensory experience. It's what if the "Wizard intercepts Wyvern" scene lasted 3 hours straight, acompanied by beeps, alarms, clicks, clacks, engine sounds, explosions and people inhaling and sighing too close to the mic, with either a breakcore/jazz combo or emotional piano atmospheric pieces on top of it. Not to mention its homoerotic nature (love triangle about a two men and a fighter jet)....yeah what a show (that should have been longer). when the love of your life is a plane (episode 1 spoilers I suppose)
