Counting pebbles, Fraser’s Restaurant, Kings Park, Perth. It was a pebble count with high stakes—determining which of the finalists at the @impact100wa grant awards dinner would receive $50,000 and which would receive $10,000. Nine finalists (from 96 applications) each had five minutes to present their pitch to the room full of donors, who then voted for their top six by dropping pebbles in jars. The six with the highest number of pebbles each won the coveted $50,000 grant. The remaining three each won $10,000. All nine presentations educated, moved and inspired the audience, making for a hard decision indeed. I’m glad I was only photographing and not voting. Congratulations to all finalists. $50,000 grants went to @caradwa @dismantle_inc @isharwomenshealth @kalparrinwa @zontahouse and #midlas and $10,000 grants to #blueroomtheatre @darlingrangewildlifeshelterwa and @fairgameaustralia. https://www.instagram.com/p/CD3vji-jHPL/?igshid=simeftkac6nh
