I just wanted to let you know I thought the piece of poetry that you posted was beautifully written and incredibly poignant and I saw in your tags that you were hurting and I know that it is a personal matter and that we don't really know each other too well, but I am around if you ever needed anybody to talk/vent to. I hope that you feel better <3 And I hope you know how amazingly talented you are. You are the definition of a wordsmith and artist, honestly.
You are a wonderful person. My heart just swelled up because ah thank you so much. Writing/poetry means a lot to me and it’s super scary to post it sometimes and this really made me smile. You are so sweet. If you ever want to talk, or write/plot then just hmu as well. I feel very loved rn. thank you.

( m!a: raptor ) He's rather proud of his accomplishment: swiping the bucket of rats the new kid mistakenly left in the holding cage. He'd managed to kick it onto its side, the rodents spilling into the enclosure. Owen chirrups at Blue, nudging a plump one towards her with his claw.
Trotting over, she nuzzled along his snout before looking to the rat he pushed towards her. Covering it with her claw, she nudged a different one, larger but thinner towards him. No matter what form he was in, he was still Alpha and as ranked as such, got to eat first.
"No, stay with me. Stay awake."
Hurt/wounded sentence starters.
When she’d been hurt before, Charlie had been surrounded by humans, Alpha helping keep her calm while she was stuck in the holding pen with those awful restraints to stop her from snapping at or clawing the others trying to help her. She’d never liked those cramped pens, and had only settled with her Alpha there to keep her calm, almost like a child seeking the comfort of their father at the doctor’s.
Waking up alone and hurt, and in a body that was distinctly less durable than her natural raptor state had terrified her. The explosion she’d miraculously survived had left painful cuts and burns streaked across her arm and side, and it had taken her far longer than she would have liked to make her way to the main park in search of her pack. She’s so preoccupied with hunting for her sisters or Alpha that finding a way to tend to the burns barely even crosses her mind. She’s never been alone before; the bottom of the pack is where she’s always been the most comfortable. Making her way to the paddock becomes her next priority, hoping that her sisters have found her way there instead.
She finds Alpha’s home first, and as much as she wants to press on to the paddock to look for the others, she has to rest. The island isn’t safe for her without teeth and claws and legs capable of outrunning any prey unfortunate enough to cross her path, and she’s already feeling ill, from what she thinks is merely eating little but sandwiches scrounged from the building on the main plaza with the strange green and white sign.
Yet the more time that passes, the harder and harder Charlie finds it to summon the energy to continue on her trek. Alpha’s home is safe and familiar, associated with memories of her days after hatching when she would chase Alpha and her sisters and play here. But her sickness continues, wounds painful with even the slightest of movements. She can only recall feeling this ill once before when Echo had clawed up her leg and an infection had set in, relegated to time in solitary for her wounds to heal and to fight off the infection.
When Alpha returns, the island is gripped by a tropical storm, and Charlie has created herself a makeshift nest of blankets and pillows on the bed. If she tries hard enough, she can trick herself into thinking that she’s a hatchling again, curled up against her Alpha as she seeks comfort from the sounds of the storm. It’s certainly better than facing the reality where she can barely eat, and her temperature blazes so fiercely that she can’t stop shaking. She can’t even summon the energy to question how Alpha recognises her in this form to sound so worried for her, and merely curls up against him with a small whimper.
She’ll be okay now. Alpha has come back.
