Cat and Yellow Roses 3
Study, 20×30cm, acrylic and coloured pencils on toned paper. This study of my Yellow Rose Cat series was the first to be a delight to paint on the warmly toned paper. I had sketched rather loosely, and was worried at first it would become messy but it all fell into place. It took three passes of lights before it felt sunny enough. I enjoy the complementary contrast of the warm colours against the blue shutters; I left mosre parts sketchy here than I did in previous pieces.
