Bluestone 42: Series 3 Episode 2
Nick: He's the best. That's why I chose him - thought we'd have a lot in common.
Lt. Col. Smith: "Best" isn't always best. I tend to favor "turns up on time and not a twat."
Happy Christmas!

I have relatively little interest in watching Bluestone 42, but not gonna lie, I absolutely want to work into my own life the cheery signoff 'Go on. Off you fuck.'
I really recommend 68 Whiskey - I was initially wary because I don’t like tv series/movies glorifying white people in modern wars.
HOWEVER the main cast is really diverse, and as the episodes progress you (spoiler alert) realise that the characters aren’t really there by choice. Alvarez, a dreamer, is there because it’s the only way she can afford to become a doctor. Roback, a victim of abuse, is there because it’s the only way to escape having killed his abuser. Davis is there because it’s the best way to provide for his family.
And it tackles such a wide range of storyline, for example (another spoiler) Alvarez nearly being deported back to Mexico. It encompasses comedy and drama, all while being (refreshingly) very self aware of the issues with the invasion of Afghanistan.
If you’re looking for something similar to M*A*S*H, Our Girl and Bluestone 42, this is it!
