Here are Prehnite, Lapis Lazuli, and Moonstone!
They’re for the contest by @blueswapuniverse , but I’ve already found myself falling in love with these 3, so I’ll be doing more with them in the future!
Funny story, I designed Moonstone months ago and I was planning on selling her, but she fits perfectly in the story that I have planned for them.
There will be more on their individual personalities soon!
Prehnite is a high-class guard, a bit below Holly Blue Agate. She got them big bara arms :0c Like her real-life gemstone counterpart, she has electrokinesis (real life Prehnite is pyroelectric) She may look snobby, but right now she’s feigning disgust towards Lapis and Moonstone. There’s a reason that she’s acting all high and mighty in this scene, and it will be explained later!
Lapis Lazuli is mute. Her Gem is in her mouth, preventing her from speaking. If she was allowed to, she could shapeshift a mouth, but doing so drains more energy than moving an arm or a leg since she has to shapeshift her entire vocal programming’s placement to talk from somewhere else on her body. Other than her Gem placement, Lapis is no different from other Lapis Lazulis.
Moonstone is a high aristocratic Gem, below a Sapphire but above an Agate. Her design was inspired by the figurine from the Lunar Sea Spire. Like Prehnite, there’s a reason that she’s acting so flustered.
All three of them work in a building very similar to the Lunar Sea Spire. Prehnite is a guard, much like an Amethyst. Prehnites tend to be cliquey as well, however, they believe themselves to be of higher status than they actually are. Unlike Amethysts, Prehnites take their jobs very seriously, even if they think that they’re too important to be serving such low-class Gems. They keep their thoughts to themselves, and that prerequisite leads any Prehnite that speaks rudely to any Gem in the Spire to be shattered. Prehnites are placed into their ranks immediately after emerging so that they don’t develop Amethyst-esque habits and manners. Prehnites only converse with other Prehnites. A Prehnite speaking to any other Gem or treating any other Gem as an equal will be shunned by the group, and do to not being able to work with other Prehnites, it leads to the Prehnite not being able to do her job and eventually gets shattered. If the group starts playing pranks on a “rogue” Prehenite to embarrass her/get her shattered, it might lead to disaster within the Spire, ending with the whole platoon being shattered.
Lapis Lazulis keep the Sea Spire in prime condition, and they are a sort of guard outside of the Spire, flying around, scanning the environment, and they socialize by sitting on water constructs they make.
Moonstone is one of the highest ranking Gems in the Spire. Moonstones are sort of like the host of a book club. They make sure that all of the Gems visiting the Spire are content, they participate in conversations with high-ranking Gems, and during their free time, they keep track of star maps. Moonstones are to Prehnites as Agates are to Amethysts, but a bit softer. Moonstones are typically only stationed at Lunar Sea Spires, but the group of Prehnites that she’s in charge of most likely have not and will never leave the Spire. Moonstones don’t have to worry about Prehnites acting out of line due to the compatible nature of the two Gem types. Moonstones are one of the few Gem types that Prehnites will actually speak to.
I did use a wonderful base by @artifiziell for Lapis, but the other two were designed entirely by me, @mewmew151
