What I like about them
It'd be really hard for me to actually write up what I like about Sonic b/c honestly there's soooooo much that I love about him so tbh
Sonic is just my favourite character of all time now tbh it's strange thinking that I never used to care for him much but like idk
I just love how sweet Sonic is, ppl tend to think that Sonic's this untouchable cocky asshole but he's really not??? Sonic drops everything to help everyone and anyone in his universe, he's so stubborn that even when the odds are stacked against him, he'll still fight. He stood up to a god and told Chip to run despite the fact that he was on his knees in exhausted and in pain just to make sure that Chip would be safe, even in Sonic Riders ZG he gives up his Ark of the Cosmos to Jet b/c he knows it'll make him happy, despite Jet being a total tsundere butt to him. There's so many examples of Sonic being a sweetheart but I think like the best game that sums up the reason why I love Sonic is probably Black Knight.
Sonic so willingly trusts Merlina from the start in that game, he recognizes that what she's asking him to do isn't heroic and even tells her that he can't be the hero everytime, because what's really important to him is saving a kingdom full of people and not being known as a hero. He's not even bothered when Nimue mentions that he could become like the possessed King Arthur if he takes the scabbard of Excalibur and when Nimue asks him to complete three tasks to prove himself, he unknowingly completes them by dropping them to help a child who wants the people of her village to be rescued. Sonic had what it took to complete those tasks, but Nimue clearly wanted him to do it out of his own want to help people and not because she asked him too, and by Sonic dropping those tasks to help out that child he displayed that n I just
I love Sonic okay?? He basically just wants to do what's right and really cares about everyone and he's giant sweetie with a good nature who never gives up even when he's beaten to his knees b/c all he wants to do is do good n he'll stand up for that no matter what(I wrote a post about that at one point actually)

Another thing I also really love about Sonic is how modest he actually is??? There's a difference between playfully being cocky n being cocky n I believe a lot of people really miss this when looking at Sonic's character! Sonic actually doubts himself sometimes?? There's a scene in Unleashed where Sonic believed Chip was protecting him from being taken over by Dark Gaia's influences in his werehog form, but Chip says to him that he did nothing and that Sonic was the reason why he hadn't been taken over, because he was too strong to lose himself to the darkness and Sonic can only reply with "I'm the reason?" he didn't even believe that he could do something like that and it's really sweet. He also does it in SA2 before he uses Chaos Control for the first time.
Sonic's playfully cocky he playfully bigs himself up and says he's cool ("lets go home to the planet as cool and blue as me" he says whilst being upset about Shadow's death in SA2 trying to brush it off so Amy doesn't worry about him) I JUST
This is extremely hard for me to put into words laUGhs Sonic is literally just a hot-headed sweetie who only wants to do good and that's why I love him uwu

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more
I would honestly like to see the concept of Sonic failing like in Lost World done properly??? Without all the ooc moping that is and Sonic basically telling himself over and over that Tails is fine and not dead and he'd get there in time to save him n believing that Tails can handle himself for a lil while whilst he tries to find him
An interesting AU for this character
I have sooo many aus so it's kinda hard to place one down that would be the most interesting?? A lot of people have commented saying that the resonance AU of mine is my most interesting tho which is basically an AU where Sonic grew up as Eggman's pet n Blaze is basically the one doing what Sonic usually does in canon
I also have a spirit AU that I really like where Sonic is the spirit of life and Shadow is the spirit of death
