"Daddy and mommy loved to bring me new dolls. One doll. Two dolls. Three dolls. But they were always so fragile and they were always missing something! I thought they were ugly.
I wanted complete dolls. And I wanted them to last forever. Four dolls. Five dolls. Six dolls.
I found a way to make them last: It's resin. Two parts resin that I submerge my doll in. It cures in a few hours.
Then, the doll is pretty. Then, the doll is silent. There is some lights from time to time but it goes away after a few months. Seven dolls. Eight dolls. Nine dolls.
I always keep them near my heart, that way, I'm sure they will never crumble apart. I make them new clothes. I bring them everywhere with me. Ten dolls. Eleven dolls. Twelve dolls.
Some have the names of people I don't like. Sometimes, I smash those dolls against my bedroom floor, it's a way of punishing those people mean to me. The doll I named "Brother" is the most broken of all.
My favorite one used to make such a lovely sound before I made it to last. Even now, when I hold it close enough to my ears, I still can hear it sing. It reminds me those pretty shells that make the sea's lullaby.
I met you today. You asked me if I could help you in some way. I know right then that you'll be my next favorite doll." - Jessica
