Are you happy or disappointed with this new casting? I'm kinda irritated Pedowitz/The CW is bringing on so many new male characters. Like,,, stop??!? Supergirl was such a neat divergence from the male-dominated superhero genre. QUIT IT 😩

I am really upset. I remember one of the things I celebrated the most last year was that Supergirl was one of the few shows that had a realistic balance between male and female characters in terms of quantity. Sadly, this cannot be on the CW. Lucy and Cat are not even confirmed yet and we got Clark and another DC characters that might or might not be a huge deal.

You know what Pedowitz did for the past year. Don’t have too much hope for Supergirl to be your happy place anymore, it’s about to be taken from us unless there’s some kind of miracle.

Having said all that tho, I hate that we’re being pitted against each other. Y'all are puttin in work and despite B//rk shippers anti-voting us, it doesn’t take away your passion. We just know that there are people anti-voting so it leaves a bitter taste is all. Good luck!

yeah i mean as i’ve said before, the real tragedy here is that we’re even put in this situation at all, where we’re forced to go against each other. it shouldn’t have to be like this. they could easily give us both interviews, if they wanted.

Speaking for myself I'm happy Shadowhunter fans are so passionate, it's great that they have a m/m interracial ship - they also have the books. A second season. A new and un-jaded by fandom cast. Clexa is done after the finale, we won't have anything else after and I'm all for Malec winning but this is literally the last time Eliza and Alycia will be able to win this or any other fan-voted award. Harry and Matthew have a whole other season and probably many more to win these.

I think a lot of the optics surrounding the issue aren't being accounted for. They don't know about Jason inviting fans to watch Alycia and Eliza film as a pre-emptive move because he knew he'd already killed her. They're not aware that multiple people, TO HIS FACE, brought up the harmful Bury Your Gays trope and he laughed it off and told them we were reading too much into it. Or how for MONTHS he was inadvertently praising himself as the beacon of LGB rep b/c of Lexa/Clexa. They don't know.

That's what's so harmful about the reputable blogs thinking this is JUST about Lexa/Clexa, they don't KNOW all the shit he's actually DONE outside of the show - they think we're doing this out of spite. That we're rage quitting and trying to get the show off the air because he killed our favorite character and how dare he. No, that's not it. All the trolls are drowning out the real reason behind our actions, and the Blarkes are further tainting the well by being the reasonable ones on Twitter.

That’s why we have to step up and tell everyone how much of an ass he truly is. That’s why staying silent is absolutely ridiculous.

Am I a bad gay for not wanting to lower the iMDB rating? It's such a double-edged sword because Alycia and Eliza were OUTSTANDING and I feel like it diminishes the heart and soul they put into the material they were given :///. Obviously I don't want to reward careless Bury Your Gay tropes, but.... they were so good up until the end. :(

I don’t think you’re bad for not wanting to do it; it’s a personal decision. I’m not gonna judge anyone on that. They were incredible the entire episode, but for me the end just ruined it all. I think in the broader context it’s pretty clear why people are rating the episode down, and that it has nothing to do with the acting and everything to do with the cruelty and hypocrisy involved in her death.

I do think it’s a shame that the actresses but so much hard work and feeling into this episode and it’s been totally overshadowed by the huge negative reaction BUT that is completely all on Jason for telling the story so poorly, not the actresses for depicting it in the way they did or the fans for being justifiably angry.
