you know what i realise this is super late bc it was 4 months ago but i never made a post about blur’s concert october 11th 2015 so im going to rn
so it was at tecnópolis right? we got there like an hour early bc i like to be early to things even more so concerts, even when we had platea and not campo so it didnt really change much at what time we got there. anyways so the band that was opening for them not to be a dick but kinda sucked. shem. maybe in another context i’d have appreciated them? who knows.
anyways we were still waiting when gaby had to pee and when she came back she’d bought a shirt? AND I WAS LIKE WHAT NO WAIT I WANT ONE so we went down again and i bought one as well it came with a milky so that was awesome.
put on the shirt, kept anxiously waiting. i looked at the time and it was almost there? and suddenly this weird... like... music box tune started. people started to get pumped my heart was beating so hard you don’t even know... but the music just kept repeating and repeating and repeating... and repeating. i was gonna have a fucking heart attack wHEN WERE THEY GONNA SHOW UP i was like screaming at gaby like an insane person.
and then. then they did. my beautiful beautiful babies. damon says hi, your classic “buenas noches buenos aires” (buenas noches buenos aires makes me shiver every time i do love it) and they opened with Go Out AND IT WAS SO GREAT EVERYONE WAS JUMPING AND SCREAMING AND HE’S GOING TO THE LOCAL TO THE LO O OOOOO yeah sure we were on the bleachers but we jumped bc what am i gonna do sit like an asshole? fuck no.
damon got out a water bottle, threw water at the front row, i died of jealousy. then they played there’s no other way which yES YESYYESYS. every single time a new song started it took me a couple seconds to know which one it was but then it never mattered bc i love all blur songs listen. listen all of them. ok not all of them i have something against Jets but. GOD. anyways there's no other way obviously made us jump like assholes, everybody being out of their bleedin minds
so after they played lonesome street which also got everyone excited. i was super happy to know everybody knew the lyrics??? like yeah u go city u did ur homework. i think damone was happy about it too. the fucker kept going to the front row and letting everybody touch him bc he's a whore i was so jealous. meanwhile graham turns away everytime he has to play a solo it's fucking adorbs. like he's so embarrassed so he can't look at the audience and he'll play looking at the floor or at dave??
then they played badhead which made me cry bc that song means a lot to me ever since i came back from europe. i got to calm down a bit. the guys playing the trumpets were funny. then ghost ship which was hella
AND THEN LIKE COFFEE AND TV STARTED FIRST CHORD EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING LIKE CRAZY SO FCUKING EXCITED LIKE YES YES IT'S UPON US YES FUCK YES THIS IS IT EVERYBODY JUMPING SCREAMING THE LYRICS and we all sang the oooooooooh so we can start over again w/ the chorus and damon kind of directed us to keep singing... and we kept going for like 4 minutes and it was beautiful it was SO BEAUTIFUL. and then when we stopped and did the long note damon said we were one of the best audiences in the world which I KNOW every band says everywhere they go but i believe him??? i believe him, he likes us. shut up. he said we set the bar too high, which was fucking adorable. then they did caravan, everybody knew the lyrics (not me) damon was impressed, it was great man it was so great.
idont remember the song but it was around here that there was a moment where damon was jumping as he does and suddenly he stops and tells us that in the previous concert (córdoba i think it was) he was jumping and he hurt his knee so it hurt and he couldnt jump a lot. but he was laughing it was cute. old man.
"ok we'll start the next song as soon as graham finishes tying his shoe"
ok so. then beetlebum, everyone fucking exploded again, of course. i like it when it starts with the guitar bc it's like graham's responsability? so he'll touch his face and start playing looking at the floor like whatevs and beetlebum is v easy to recognize so everybody freaked out which is kind of hilarious bc it isn’t a v pumped up song but everyone was jumping either way with their arms up and singing out (these things always remind me of that green day interview where they talk about how the audience goes crazy on the less crazy songs?? like YEHAHAHAH WHEN I COME AROUUUDN!!!!)
then came thought i was a spaceman, everybody lovd it, it sounded great AND they had a disco ball to make like. stars??? beautiful. so beautiful it was really like... floating... god it was so good take me back. also damon would blow kisses to the audience all the time btw it was the best man thE BEST.
then trimm trabb, awesome. then tENDER EVERYBODY SCREAMING LIKE FUCK YES THIS IS MY CHANCE TO OH MY BABY-IT AWAY. AND OH MY BABY-IT WE DID we didn’t make it as long as the ending of coffee and tv but it was an ok lenght. by that point my throat was fucking killing me from scream-singing and jumping i couldnt breathe. im so out of shape.
every now and then people started going "olé olé olé damon damon!" which really annoyed me bc theyre a fucking band asshole why are you doing that. so i would scream "GRAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!" every guitar solo to try and make up for it, "WOOOOOO ALEX!!!!!” “DAAAAAAAAVE!!!!!!" i knew they didn’t hear it but whatever man.
oh man and then probably my favourite moment. a couple moments of silence. everyone waiting. suddenly, the sound of a bottle breaking. i turn to gaby my eyes shining maniacally. i know whats coming i know what song comes after a fucking bottle breaking

OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOD THE STADIUM FUCKING BROKE, PEOPLE WERE GOING CRAZY, EVERYONE JUMPING IT NO LONGER MATTERED IF WE WERE ON THE BLEACHERS LET’S BREAK EVERYTHING. NO ONE HAD ANY VOICE LEFT BUT WE STILL WENT "PAAARKLIIFE!!!!!!" EVERY TIME. AAAAAAAAAAAAALL THE PEOPLE. AND DAMON GOT LIKE TEN PEOPLE ON THE STAGE AND. I’M SO JEALOUS. AND THEY WERE ALL RUNNING AROUND (damon tried but he couldnt because of the knee i love him mi amor) AND SCREAMING AND IT WAS CRAZY FUCKING CRAZY. it was pure madness, it ended with damon on the floor laughing.
ok we calmed down a bit. ong ong, everybody with their hands in the air "i wanna be with you!!" it was a happy moment. yet again the guitar, everybody knew. i was jumping before it even started...

man i wish i could say again "everyone went crazy" i can't explain how crazy they went. it was incredible. i didn’t think i could keep jumping but apparently yes! yes i could!! the red lights, everybody jumping....
then after that was To the End, which made me cry because it's the first blur song i ever heard and basically the one that got me into the band and then finally This is a low, which is always emotional i don't really know the lyrics and my throat was killing me but. And the radio says....THIS IS A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
really i'm so glad nobody can hear you sing individually in concerts it was embarrasing. and then they left and we were all screaming for them to come back, obviously but? people were forgetting the "calling the band back with oh my baby" tradition???? which made me kind of sad, gaby was super upset about that. we tried to start it ourselves but people didn’t follow. dicks.
anyways they did come back finally as we knew they would, said thank you of course. then played, and this was amazing:
first stereotypes. man i had no voice left but YEAAAAAAAAH THERE MUST BE MORE TO LIFE THAN STEREOTYPES. and then of course!!!! how could they not!!!!!! play!!! motherfucking!!!! GIRLS AND BOYS. OK THAT SONG SHOWED ME I'M IN THE WORST SHAPE I WAS JUMPING SO MUCH I COULDN'T SING?? I COULDNT MY VOICE REFUSE TO GET OUT. it was beautiful but i suffered. also it was great bc it reminded me of quilmes rock 2013, they opened with girls and boys. i can't believe i've seen them twice, gosh.
then they played for tomorrow, which is one of my faves, i have And the view's so nice on my wall. and finally they did the universal which was hilarious bc i think damon made a mistake after the first verse and he was like "no wait. wait. bollocks. no, let's start again" and they fuckign started again. the whole song.
and then they did leave but it was really lovingly (?) also graham was the last to leave bc he was doing weird guitar things and when he left he kind of. shily raised a hand, waved awkwadly, look at the floor and left. Mister please you have been doing this for 30 years.
we left after that, bought a couple beers because our throats were so dry we needed to drink something and we couldnt find anyone who sold water?! we were also starving but all the food was both vegan and super expensive. then we were waiting for gaby’s mum and the people at tecnópolis told us to fuck off.... like “we’re closing so you need to get out” wow rude man we just left the concert... we were drinking under the dinosaur and they told us to leave. anyways we left i got kinda drunk off one can of beer bc my stomach was completly empty, got to my house screamed about it to kai, made the milky and then made some pasta.
anyways it was great. ALSO THEY SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SOMEONE I AM SO JEALOUS. anyways. so good. cant believe its been 4 months.
