*For privacy reasons he’s Rhysand from the ACOTAR novels hahahaha
Beginning with the King of Swords, we can see here that my person of interest processes their emotions logically and often replays the moments we shared in their head. This doesn’t surprise me. Not only do I feel this card shows our mirrored nature (I’m an Aquarius Sun with a stellium in the second house, he’s heavily influenced by Uranus) but the character portrayed, John Anderton, spends a huge portion of the film working for a company that prevents crime by arresting criminals BEFORE the act has been committed. It’s predicted he himself will commit a murder, and he goes on the run to save himself and uncover a conspiracy.
Free will vs determinism: Are we allowed to choose who we end up with, or is it already written for us?
My answer is always somewhere in between, I think we have chosen people in this lifetime and we do meet some or all, but we can still choose. Ever since I met Rhys I’ve been contemplating this question. The circumstances at which we met and how things played out had a spooky, heavy, familiarity permeating feeling. I was convinced that I had met my person, that I had met him before in many many lifetimes, and I know he felt the same.
So at this very moment? I could be on his mind quite a bit…particularly him thinking about the significance of our interactions and what that might mean in the future.
Next is The Sun, which has both symbolic and very personal significance: “Rhys” (hehe) has a very prominent tattoo of a Sun on his body, and uses the Sun, “burning man” archetype in his work and businesses. The Sun in Tarot represents a moment or person in the subjects timeline that illuminates and brightens the space. It is a card of bliss and happiness. Adventure. The character on the card, Maria, represents this. Despite existing in such sour, dark times (WWII Austria), she is able to inspire and bring hope to the children, who fear for their future.
The Nine of Cups (wish fulfillment) and the Ten of Wands (fatigue, external pressures, finally overcoming obstacles) represent a desire to finally move past the events that indirectly separated us while The Tower Reversed (Jules) represents the unfinished business between us, lingering in the psyche.
The King of Coins / or Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka is an interesting one. The character alone shows that my person is quite charismatic and warm but still very calculating. Willy Wonka built an entire empire for himself, and is strategically selective about who he allows into his paradise. Silly and eccentric, but very serious, savvy, and grounded as well. His community matters to him. Not only that but his community directly impacts his work life as he’s in the public eye. My presence naturally disrupted that (for better AND for worse) and this was the very core of the separation between us. I’m not surprised this card came up. The King of Coins represents someone who’s thinking about long-term longevity, and a life-long partner surely needs to be able fit cleanly in his perfectly, selected world.
The Ace of Cups is a sight for sore eyes, and made my heart flutter (honestly lol). It’s a sign that there’s still a deep emotional undercurrent existing in the connection (which I clearly feel). But the Ace is a card of potential, of intention and feeling..it doesn’t exactly signify him taking action. He’s certainly thinking about it though, and Allie from The Notebook reinforces that. Another aspect that her character brings is bad timing. Throughout the film, her and Noah go through many trials, separate for many years before returning to each other. Our connection seems to be playing out exactly like that; as I mentioned before external circumstances and timing had plenty to do with what happened between us.
Lastly, the Page of Coins (Jamal from Slumdog Millionare) tells me that he’s handling things very cautiously. He’s watching and waiting for an opening, and waiting for the timing to be right. Jamal also brings a financial aspect to the reading, which is realistic and makes sense. We’re currently at two different points in our career. He for the most part is building something very stable and tangible (although I can see some instability) and at the time, I was throwing anything at the wall to see if it stuck. He wants me to be established before beginning something serious with me; he’d rather not be burdened financially and wants a partner who can introduce harmony into his life, not financial and by proxy, emotional strain. He’s very focused on becoming the man he wants to be for the person he marries…am I the person on the other side of the altar? This reading tells me he’d like me to be, but he’s scared. Our relationship would change quite a lot for him, and he needs to be sure that if he uproots his life it’s for good reason.
We probably just need to sit down for dinner and talk for a few hours.
