Feast Day Of Our Lady of Sorrows
Feast Day September 15
Our Lady's Seven Sorrows has its origin in Christian devotion which finds it fitting to associate her with the Passion of her Son. The Church, commemorating Mary's suffering, emphasizes her great and courageous love, which caused her to be so closely associated with the work of our Redemption. She was in very truth who, like Judith, faced with the distress and tribulation of her people, spared nothing to save us from ruin. By offering her Son for us, she became our Mother and we became her children.

Our Lady of LaVang
The Saint of Vietnam
Feast Day: November 22
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a small group of persecuted Catholics living their faith in a jungle in Vietnam. They suffered privations, dangers, and illnesses. They recited the rosary daily and on one evening, the Blessed Mother appeared to them telling them that she fully understood their hardships. She told them, among other things, to gather the leaves from a plant that grew by them and boil their water with them to purify it. She also providently told them “From this day on prayers said on this spot will be heard and answered.” That was in 1798 and pilgrims have had answered prayers since.

The feast of the presentation of Mary
It dates back to the 6th century in the East and the 15th century in the West. It is based on an ancient tradition that says Mary was taken to the temple in Jerusalem when she was 3-years-old and dedicated to God. What we celebrate on this day is the fact that God chose to dwell in Mary in a very special way. In response, Mary placed her whole self at the service of God. Every moment since your Baptism, God invites you to be open to his grace and dedicate yourself to him, as Mary did.
