Is a Ascendant/Pluto= Venus in the 1st house midpoint similar to pluto and venus in the 1st house?
Yes.Here’s why.
Midpoints are basically 3 planets’/points energetical relation to one another in hard aspect. This is written as: A = B/C
A metaphor:Picture yourself as a child between both of your parents. Being in the middle, you were greatly affected by the quality of their interaction [I.e were they loving or aloof towards each other? Did they fight a lot or were they indifferent towards each other? Etc.] In the same way, a planet in the midpoint of two other planets [aspects] that are more powerful [i.e. that have slower orbits] will be greatly affected by their interaction.
In this case, the Venus [A] is sitting in the middle of the hard aspect [conjunction, square, opposition] of your Rising [B] and Pluto [C].
The rising is being affected by Pluto’s [being the outer planet and therefore, slower planet] influence: So this midpoint represents the experience of transformation, obsession, evolution, sexuality, [Pluto] on one’s mask/face to the world and their identity. This midpoint being activated usually displays itself as the native identifying with things intensely and obsessively. This midpoint causes a person to come across as powerful– either overtly or in a subtle manner. This can also cause power struggles within themselves or with others and with Venus in the middle, it will usually manifest in relationships.Additionally, Venus, sitting in the middle is most likely taking on plutonic traits or getting a Plutonic flavor. This will likely manifest by the native’s love language coming across with a lot of intensity or experiencing others who project this onto them. She is also getting some Arian traits as the 1st house is ruled by Aries/Mars. I went into depth a bit about how Venus and Pluto in the first house manifest for a native on my astro blog here and here.
