i can't say how happy it makes me to see you supporting other trans headcanons, especially sun. if you've noticed an uprise in trans sun lately, (i think) it's because of how redditers reacted when i posted art mentioning i headcanoned him as trans, using your mention of may being the first onscreen trans character to invalidate it and insist to me that it could never be canon. we started a revolution in response and i'm very happy you've seen it ahaha

It’s nonsense. It really is.

LGBTQIA+ and PoC representation in media is nowhere near where it should be, especially in huge Hollywood productions, so headcanons are where we all get to freely explore those ideas with our favorite shows/movies/books/comics/etc.

We ARE making small steps forward, and those GOOD CANON steps forward should be noted and praised... BUT you should STILL have your headcanons, enjoy your fanart, your fanfics, your AU’s, bask in their glory and LOVE them!

if this is potential spoilers feel free not to answer (or just say it's spoilers) but when do you personally think may realized she was trans/came out?

This is all non-canon, so do not take anything I here as fact at all.

But when someone is able to finally be away from a family that doesn’t quite understand them, and explore their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences without the need to adhere to certain standards... that’s when you actually learn to be who you are.

So, given that, I’d say (if it were me) it would have been at the academy, while away from home for the first real time. Especially if there was someone (or someones) being encouraging.

Again! Non-canon! Just my thoughts as a trans person and having been through a lot.

i'm having an increasingly hard time coming up with questions regarding may of anything to do with rwby that you can actually answer buuuttt who do you personally think would be the baby of the happy huntresses, even if just by a few weeks or months?

I’d say May? She constantly looks at the others for reassurance in every scene we’ve seen her in so far, just a subtle glance of “I handled that, right?” or “What do we do now?”

She also has that bit of unspoken cockiness to her, like, girl, who goes out in the middle of the street and just stands there to stop a truck? Use the arrows to pop a tire or something, omg, don’t stand in the middle of the road!

May definitely feels like the “baby” of the group, while also being the boldest at the same time. She’ll run her mouth when she feels the need, but also knows to back down when she’s in the wrong.

She’s a Danger Baby.
