Fandom/Wiki Edits

Figure I may as well make a progress report.

Home Page for bmnc.fandom.com has been cleaned up. Still relatively basic, but at least it is a landing zone with a message.

The Classy Peanuts' page and each of the respective member's pages have all been cleaned and updated, featuring proper artwork and descriptions, as well as status on them and reasonable, publicly-shared information from their social media sites (no real names, emails, or career pages such as LinkedIn. Only what they have shared. These will be adjusted accordingly upon request from them).

Pages for characters and contributors to parodies are being added and edited to be appropriate. There are still many pages that need to be cleaned up as they are old and incomplete, but they will be addressed in due time. I want to take care of major pages first.

I don't know how to edit URL-related things on pages yet, or how to change the backgrounds for the Wiki, but I'll figure it out eventually. I just want to get pages laid out properly first.

Getting videos from Bloo's YouTube is very difficult with the channel issue that we couldn't resolve way back when. Her videos are still up, but one has to search for them in the engine instead of going to her page. Very annoying.

Please help me find my friend

Okay, I know that this is going to sound maybe weird or whatever, but I’ve gotten to the point that I’m too concerned for her to care.

I’ve lost contact with my best friend @bloomacncheez ​ within the last year or so. My last DIRECT contact with her was around October 2015, talking about some personal business. Things went kind of silent around then until maybe December 2015, where she posted that she was more focused on school work and taking a break from Tumblr. I can understand this; schoolwork is much more important than Tumblr. Cut to around July or August of 2016, still no word from her at all. Not even anything in response on her birthday in regards to birthday wishes. Absolutely nothing. Obviously, I’m concerned and I send her a couple of messages asking how things are going, if she’s doing alright, just checking up on her in general. February 2017 kind of sated my concern when she posted an update on her fanfic on Ao3, but again, it’s now October of 2017 and there is no sign of her anywhere. Not on Twitter, Tumblr, Ao3, DeviantArt, anything, and I can’t get a hold of her via email.

@bloomacncheez​ has been a close friend of mine since 2008, and we’ve been through a lot together. I would honestly argue that she is one of the people responsible for me even still being alive, having helped me through some of the darkest years of my depression. She cares so much about other people, and what kind of friend would I be if I wasn’t concerned for this extended disappearance?

If anyone knows what happened to her, or knows the most recent status of her, please please let me know. You don’t have to tell me any incriminating details like location or anything like that, of course.  I just need to know that she is okay and not hurt or worse.

I hate asking for help, I really do, and I would never want to exploit people for personal gain or recognition or anything like that , but I need help right now. So if you guys could maybe reblog this and help me find my best friend, that would mean so much to me.

Sometimes you have a dream that's too good and then you just wake up and get sad again.

I suppose at least this time I didn't wake up with my face and pillow soaked in tears. Lol.

It's funny... I tell everyone that it is time to move on and let go, but in the end I'm the one who still hasn't been able to do that.

RIP BMNC Wiki

So, despite my enthusiasm for the project, I had to go ahead and close up the BMNC Fandom page

Even though it was made back in 2009 by someone else, it is still technically violating Community Policy because it is about a YouTuber/Real Life person (which makes total sense, all things considered). I realize that the same issue would pop up now that popped up when I first discovered it back in March. No matter the care I put into maintaining it, because of the community content policy and because it's a page anyone and everyone can edit, the same problems could pop up.

When I first got it, people were using it as a weirdo stalker page documenting "finding people like her" and "watching from the shadows" after she vanished. It was creepy. I tried to make it more presentable, but there was still the risk of people using it to stalk folks.

I don't want that to happen. Not to anyone. No matter the care I could have taken to ensure that it was all safe, there was still too much risk.

So the Wiki had to go down.

Added a proper tab on my profile with regards to BMNC. Hopefully this helps a little bit... though I feel like it'll just make things all the more confusing for anyone else, haha...

Slowly reworking the Bloomacncheez Fandom wiki. Cleaning up a lot of stuff, making it look nice and neat. I can't be letting that space to my friend be desecrated like that.

To be honest, I never realized there was one... It wasn't in particularly good shape. Someone was using it as kind of a weirdo personal blog. Full of stalker shit.

I may not know where she's at now or have any immediate contact with her (I know maybe one or two ways but they're pretty much unavailable to me), but even after 8 years I still miss her. Every other path seems to turn up nothing, so I'm kind of just stuck here like this. It's the least I can do.

There's the likelihood that it'll be shut down because of how Fandom operates with regards to niche wikis, but still, I'm gonna put the effort in for her. No other contributors or admins are active, so hey, maybe they'll give me admin rights. Idunno.

I think the shittiest part of discovering someone was stalking my missing friend was that it was also happening at the same time I was searching for them and people assumed it was me. Completely fucked up this search and made this whole thing a lot uglier than it needed to be because someone thought it would be quirky to publicly document how they were "watching from a distance" and "from the shadows" on a public wiki.

I probably lost my best friend because of it.

Found a page that was effectively stalking my best friend

While I was also trying to figure out if they were okay. Only just stumbled upon it. A lot of really weird talk about someone "watching from a distance" and "looking to make contact" and all that.

On a Wiki Fandom page

Creeped me the hell out. This was my best friend and they were being stalked while I was trying desperately to find out if they were okay or even alive.

At the very least Fandom.com lets you just make an account and edit everything. Figured the least I could do was go on there, clean out all that weird and creepy bullshit, and give the page a proper cleaning for her...

The worst part is I feel like it's partially my fault for trying to find her. Probably only added to her paranoia... or worse, made her think that was me stalking her.

God I hope not... eugh...
