Kaibara Sen headcanons

Sen is a relatively reserved person. Given the opportunity, he’d rather stay indoors and flip through the pictures in his camera than head out with his friends, as introverts do. However, he often (reluctantly) makes time for his closest friends, such as Tsuburaba.

However, he does get excited when it’s about something important to him, and is willing to blab on about whatever the topic is for hours on end. He can talk your ear off if you mention cameras to him.

His parents are normal civilians that work jobs quite far away from home, so he doesn’t get to see them very often.

He has a little brother in elementary school that absolutely adores him. Due to the conditions of U.A. where students are required to stay in the lodging provided, they don’t spend as much time together as they used to, but when the brothers are reunited, they remain together, giggling under the covers until it’s time to go. Legend says that Sen only genuinely laughs around his little brother.

Sen enjoys playing the piano and often does impromptu duets with Tsuburaba, who (unsurprisingly, with his large lung capacity) plays the flute.

Give him a crepe, and you might as well be giving him liquid gold. He’ll value you above everybody else until he finishes the crepe.

He’s rather blunt with his words, and often doesn’t think about the consequences they could potentially have, which is why he tends to accidentally offend quite a number of people without realising.

When he’s embarrassed, Sen acts like a dog in trouble, refusing to turn his gaze towards the source of his embarrassment and usually staring down at the floor, cheeks red. If really, really embarrassed, he’ll cover his face with his hands and turn his back to whatever it is that’s disturbing him.

Being part of the ‘pretty boy squad’, Sen tends to forget about the potential power his gaze holds, which is why he’s often in the position of watching a girl run away from him and wondering if he’s done something wrong.

Sen, being a city boy often with a heavy camera in his hands, doesn’t know how to ride a bike without training wheels. The only people who have ever found out about this are Honenuki and Tsuburaba, who never fail to burst out laughing whenever the topic of biking is brought up.

In order to help his family out, as they’re not the most luxurious family (with a large sum of their spare money spent on his cameras), Sen works a part-time job at a photographer’s studio, helping out with the equipment and sometimes even the photo taking.

Sen likes playing first-person shooter video games, but he’s not very good at it. He often gets scared if there are monsters attacking him, or if the enemy team is targeting him specifically.

He’s not very susceptible to illnesses, but when he does catch a cold, it’s like he’s got stage four cancer. He acts as if he’s dying, saying he’s too weak to make it to the kitchen for food, and doesn’t shut up about not being able to experience life to the fullest extent before his untimely death to whoever’s taking care of him until they give in and make food for him. (Move over Monoma, Swivel Boy’s the real drama queen of 1-B)

Sen’s sense of humour (haha okay not funny) tends to be very dry, often in the form of sarcasm, which is why he doesn’t laugh at Pony’s knock-knock jokes or Kendou’s light-hearted quips. He does, however, enjoy deadpan exchanges with Kuroiro.

the thing that "non-shippers" miss abt 431 being bullshit is not that izuocha wasn't set up from the start—i think that was pretty obvious. it's that horikoshi used two gay people as pawns to get them together. and along the way gave those two pawns CRAZY more chemistry with the love interests than the love interests ever had with each other. he's insane.
