The 'Sisterhood of the Good Death' are a group of devout women in Brazil that honor the lives of Black people who have passed with an annual celebratory event called Boa Morte.
This is gorgeous.

Free Music :: Boa Morte
More free music, a whole album this time, originally released 10 years ago and now made available by Boa Morte as a celebratory gesture. Twelve tracks in all, Soon it will come time to face the world outside spans the realm of folk music and proceeds beyond and yet the simplicity of that genre's message is preserved; 'we are people, we think and we create'. There are small touches, melodically, rhythmically and vocally that combine to make a full-bodied and engrossing listen that marks out a perimeter fence, one with resonant strings, quivering wires, pedal push-points of alarm and scraps of fluttering cloth, that mark Boa Morte's territory in a densely-populated field of Irish folk.
The album was very well-received on its release, as was the 2010 follow-up The Dial Waltz, and it's easy to hear why. Everything is well-prepared, performed and presented almost flawlessly, and flows so seamlessly from one track to the next. It fills the ears with gentle whispers and soft thoughts, playing straight into the grasping hands of hungry souls. If you feel the need to feed, take it for nothing from Bandcamp.
