A/N: Hey here's this thing again. This is where V decides that maybe it's time for them to pack up and go home. Or what used to be their home before the band of idiots gave them a new home. But what even is home, am I right?

V stared blankly at the confirmation screen that sat on their laptop, staring back at them as confirmation of their decision. In one month and three days, they'd be on a plane back to New York. And they had 0 intention of coming back. At least, that's what they told themselves.

V was always known as the impulsive type. Impulse is what got them kicked out of high school at 15. Impulse is what got them their first arrest at age 16. Impulse is what got them to Japan in the first place. Impulse is what got them to start sleeping with their best friend.

And impulse is what made them buy a plane ticket at 3:00 AM while sobbing hysterically, back to a place that almost killed them. The place that they knew didn't want them, but a place they needed to be. The only place that was somewhat familiar.

They had to escape. They had to break away because everything was becoming too much.

Carter was everywhere they turned, left and right. He'd tried to talk to them, but V wouldn't hear it. Not after the hell he put them through for 2 years. Not after the disgusting, ugly things he said when they ended. But they worked together. And they had to be cordial, even as he made their skin crawl.

And then, there was Kenny.

They had tried, as they had many times, to talk to him. To beg him. To plead for him to see them. To look at them. To love them. To love them as desperately as they loved him.

And every time, just as before, he wouldn't hear it.

Instead he'd kiss them slowly until all words and thoughts were erased and replaced only by him. His words. His thoughts. His kiss. His touch.

They could have stopped. They could have pushed him away. But impulse made them keep going.

Or some could say addiction.

He was the best pain killer. He was the best antidepressant and the best cure for their anxiety. Being around him made them forget all the fucked up things that happened to them. Because all that mattered was him.

And that was the problem.

V was impulsive, but they were also self aware.

They could see they were losing themselves. And they knew they weren't strong enough to say no to him. How could anyone say no to him? V's mother had always said they were weak, and for once, they agreed with her. V was weak when it came to Kenny. Anything he wanted or needed, they would drop everything to make it happen. They would drop anything for him.

The only way for V to stop breaking their own heart. The only was for V to save themselves, was to leave.

And yeah, they may regret this in the morning when the anxiety has passed and the rational thought returns. Or maybe they wouldn't, because maybe this wasn't irrational. Maybe this was clarity. Maybe it was peace of mind. Maybe it's really what they needed.

Or maybe it was impulse.

No matter what, they couldn't back out now. They had spent $1200 on a plane ticket that was non-refundable.

V couldn't turn back now.

The only way they would be okay again was to leave him behind.

V slowly closed the laptop, wiping the stray tears from their face as they made their way to the bed, laying down and counting the specks in the ceiling as another sleepless night engulfed them.

Their head hurts from crying and their heart hurt from sadness.

What does one do when the one thing that brings them comfort is the same thing that breaks their heart and brings them pain?

How does one process that the one thing they want can never be theirs? Or… doesn't want to be theirs.

How does one deal with the idea of leaving their best friends behind? Leaving the family they built behind? Leaving the life they so desperately dreamed of having and finally achieved behind?

V spent another night lying awake, wondering what they would do now. Now that impulse has won once more. Now that they were planning to start over once in a place that broke them.

Knowing that in just one month, they would leave it all behind. They would be leaving him behind.

All because impulse made them fall in love with the person they couldn't have.

A/N: Hey! Here's this thing again. This is when V meets their merry band of idiots for the first time and is immediately bombarded by love they never thought was possible.

This one is for @katries because we love friends and friendship.

V bounced on their heels as they scanned the training area, the bubble of nerves in their stomach almost making them feel sick.

There were people in the ring, off to the side fiddling with equipment, sitting on the floor. It was almost overwhelming.

V always found themselves beyond nervous around too many people, so their anxiety was climbing as the minutes passed.

"Oh, hey you made it!" They heard the familiar voice call out to them, and instantly calmed them at the sweet familiarity.

They smiled as they turned to face the direction it was coming from. "Hey! I was hoping this was the right place." V said with a shy smile.

"Definitely is! Come with me, I'll introduce you to everyone." Kenny said with a smile of his own and took their hand to guide them.

V ignored the way their heart sped up at the touch of his hand and instead focused on not tripping over their own feet as he moved quickly through the room. That would be the last thing they needed while being shown around their new job, especially in front of someone so attractive. (Everyone here was attractive if they were honest.)

They approached three other men, two brunettes and one blonde, and stopped.

"Boys, this is.." Kenny started, but was quickly interrupted.

"V! You're V!" One of the brunettes said, a bit overzealous, as he jumped to his feet and bounced like a child who's had way too much sugar.

"Nick, how much coffee have you had?" The blonde said.

"Just one." The one, Nick, responded with a slight pout.

"Yeah but when you add 5 shots of espresso to it, does it really count as one?" The other brunette chimed in.

He looked at V and stuck out his hand, a warm smile on his face that brought a weird sense of joy to them. "Great to meet you, I'm Matt. That is my brother, Nick. And that handsome devil over there is Hangman. His name is Adam but he'll barely respond to that now."

V shook each person's hand with a warm smile of their own, yelping as they got pulled into a hug by the one brunette, Nick if they remembered correctly. He squeezed them tightly and V somehow didn't panic.

Normally, when strangers touched them, they'd flinch and their heart would speed up to the point of making them nauseous. However, they felt tense, but not the immediate urge to get away.

"Um… N-not to be rude but… why are you hugging me?" V asked, with slight confusion in their voice.

"Because you smell nice and you're warm. Plus I prefer hugs to handshakes." He said with a bright smile that V didn't have to see to know was there.

They felt an instant sense of fondness toward him. He seemed so sweet and had the wonder of a child but they knew he would fight to the death for the people he loved.

Even if he was a little too wired on caffeine.

"Jesus, Nick, let them go. You're gonna make them high tail it back to the states." Kenny said, laughing.

"Nope, not allowed. V is ours now." Nick said, holding V tighter.

V let out a chuckle, wiggling a bit to loosen themselves from his grip. "Well I'm glad I've been….. claimed? I guess?"

"Fuckin aye, Nicholas." Matt said with a laugh. "Let them go before you get hit with pepper spray…again."

"You're all just jealous that V is my best friend now. " Nick said, releasing them from their grip fully and poking their tongue out at the others.

"Um, does V know they're your best friend?" The blonde, Adam? Hangman?, said with a laugh.

"They do now!" Nick said with an even wider smile and V had to wonder how his face didn't hurt. He turned back to them quickly, his eyes wide and hopeful. "You are my best friend now, right?"

V stood wide eyed but couldn't help the smile that formed on their face. "Uh.. yeah, I guess so."

"Ha! I win!" Nick said with a smug smile as he folded his arms in accomplishment.

"You're literally the most ridiculous human being." Adam said with an eye roll. "Anyway, we're gonna have a game night over at Kenny's later. Wanna join?"

V was taken aback by how…. Accepting they all were. They'd know V for less than 30 minutes and they were already invited to game night? They treated V as if they'd know them for years and hadn't just met them today.

It was refreshing in a way. To be accepted with no conditions.

"Uh… yeah.. if that's okay with you?" They asked, turning toward Kenny.

"Fine by me. Hope you like Mario kart and losing." He said with a smug smile.

"I never lose at Mario Kart. " V said with a chuckle.

"Well get ready to start losing." He said, his smug grin growing wider.

"You're on." V said with a smug smile of their own.

Oh yeah, they were definitely gonna get along perfectly.

A/N: Surprise! Technically 2 days early because I love you!

You guys voted for this thing! So here it is and stuff. It's V having a bad mental health moment and Kenny is there to remind them that everything is okay. It's basically fluff so... Enjoy that lol.

Sometimes, the pain was too loud to ignore. Sometimes, the weight of failure kept V awake at night with tears streaming down their face and wishing that things had been different back in what they once considered home.

That their parents loved them the way they were supposed to.

That they supported them the way they were supposed to.

That they wouldn't have trusted the people that they did had they had a guiding hand.

Sometimes the pain got too loud and all they could do was lie awake and cry.

And sometimes, when the pain got too loud, he'd hold them in his arms in silence and let them just feel.

The first time it happened, he'd been over to help them move a bookshelf into their new apartment.

He'd been such a great help since that fateful day at the train station and they were growing rather find of him.

They'd gotten caught up with talking and learning about each other and V decided that they definitely wanted to be friends with him. He was just as nerdy, if not more so, and their interests aligned in ways they never discovered with another human being.

He had gotten them a job at New Japan as a production assistant, which V could never repay him enough for, allowing them to stay in Japan that much longer.

And so they sat on the barely used sofa and V told him about their parents and the life they used to live. And the reminders of their failure as a child and how they ran away to have the smallest chance at survival past the age of 18.

And the tears began to flow.

Their chest felt tight and their breathing felt ragged and they didn't know what to do.

They had panic attacks before. It was a regular thing when the world seemed too dark and like the walls were closing in around them.

They hated when other people had to witness them, it made them feel weak. The words of their mother rang in their head with each tear that fell down their cheek.

And maybe they were weak. Maybe they should hold everything in.

They could usually talk about this without the spiral of emotion, but something with him was different. It felt like it was okay to be vulnerable for the first time in their lives.

So they broke down, after weeks of holding everything in.

They were sure he would panic. He'd barely known her for four months and here they were, sobbing on a couch about a problem he had no clue about.

But he didn't run. He didn't even flinch.

Instead, he held them close. His hands rubbing up and down their back as he whispered in their ear that everything was okay. They were safe. They had nothing to be ashamed of or apologize for.

He made them feel normal. He made them feel safe. The first time they'd felt genuinely safe since they were a child.

And he placed a soft kiss on their forehead and the storm calmed immediately.

Their chest no longer felt tight and they no longer shivered as the low whimpers escaped their lips. Instead, they felt warm. They felt like a human being, not just a vessel floating through time, searching for an unattainable purpose.

He didn't even get mad about the tear stained shoulder of his tshirt.

"I can always wash it." He said with a soft smile, his hand still stroking their back as the last of the panic dissipated.

"Thank you." They whispered through sniffles, avoiding his eyes as embarrassment set in.

They'd known him for less than four months and had already sobbed in his arms, but he didn't seem to mind.

"Hey." He said softly, lifting their chin to look at him.

"You don't have to pretend to be okay. We're friends now. You can tell me anything." He said with a smile so earnest, it almost made them cry again.

He really was something special and they were beyond grateful for him and everything he'd done for them in the brief time they'd known him.

They didn't know how they could repay him for his never ending kindness, but they sure intended to try.

Friendsgiving with V and their merry band of idiots.

Here's a fun little headcanon of V *attempting* to have a successful friendsgiving dinner.

V has been up since 7 am making turkey, pernil (cuz who wants ham) and Mac n cheese. Their feet hurt but it's the first time they've actually been excited for this.

Matt brings the green bean casserole because it's the best food and he will not be taking questions.

Nick brings two kinds of pie because that's the only thing he knows how to make and they're actually pretty good (just have to scrape the little burnt bits off)

Kenny brings rolls because that's the only thing he's trusted with. He still manages to mess it up ("we said DINNER rolls Kenneth, not cinnamon rolls.")

Hanger brings the potatoes and beer. It's an old family recipe he says (it's the boxed version with added ingredients, but V won't tell him they know that.)

Kenny insists on sitting next to V (and so what if he holds their hand under the table. What of it?)

Matt and Hanger fight over who gets to carve the turkey and the pernil.

Nick asks if it's time for dessert yet ("we haven't even had dinner Nicholas")

Kenny and Matt argue over who gets the breast meat and Nick and Hanger argue over who gets the wishbone. V doesn't care so long as no one touches their pork skin.

Kenny tries to steal a piece and V gives him the hardest death glare and he immediately (and correctly) retreats his hand.

There's laughing, arguing, and V knows these assholes aren't doing a single dish in this damn house.

But they don't care. They have their family here with them. The family that they built. The family that saved them. And V couldn't be happier.
