I'd been on my 7-2 but needed to paddle out with the 9-6 today because I had to take another look at the delamination at the back foot that Joe Roper had noticed in his shop. Actually I think one of his employees noticed it first, but then Joe gave the board a full rundown and decided it might need to get a whole new deck. A couple of years ago I did some repairs on the extensive delam it came with off the rack at Coconut Peet's, so it's better than it used to be, but they noticed that I didn't get all of it, which I knew at the time, but ignored because I just wanted to paddle out with the thing. I like the board a lot -- it turns better than my 9-2 even though the 9-2 is shorter and has way less mass. There's smething about the way this old Rusty log was shaped that just makes it work the magic a little better. Now I'm going to wait for a hot sunny day on the beach so I can scrape off all the wax and start working on getting the deck glass reattached to the foam again. #boardrepairs #delamination #longboarding #ninesix #log #rusty #surflife #california https://www.instagram.com/p/Byq2WVEAm2K/?igshid=6wt4cord6kcs
