Two White Cranes - Walls (Boat Session)
Training Diary Sunday 23rd March
Sprint pyramids with Zoe. Need to work on my acceleration out of the turn as I am losing a lot of time there, not entirely sure why. Managed breathing/asthma better I think; that or my arms were so wrecked form yesterday they just wouldn't move fast enough, haha. We also messed around with the ball a bit; my paddle skills are noticeably improved.
Training Diary Thursday 20th March
Boat Cardio
30 pitch length sprints on the minute, 5 reps of 'Clydes Test'. Beat H on two sprints and 1 Clydes test, and was with him on a couple more of the sprints. Never done that before.
Spent the day preparing for the interview hence only one session.
Training Diary Wednesday 19th March
Session 1: Boat Cardio
Sprint Pyramids with Zoe. 1,1,1,2,2,3,2,2,1,1,1 pitch lengths with that multiple of 10 rest in between. Times three. Takes about half an hour. My breathing went bad at the end and apparently I turned a funny colour. Whoops.
Session 2: Cardiff Pool session
Corners, 5 v 4 and games. Did absolutely pants in goals, I have no idea what was wrong with me. Shooting was also completely off. Everything else was good though.
Training Diary 8th/9th March: GB Weekend
Up at stupid AM to go to Doncaster, with Friday spent doing psychological preparation for the weekend.
5 sessions in total, covering a few tactics, several drills and lots of games. And the sun was shining which was nice.
My head was not in a good place on the Saturday at all. I felt like I couldn't even do the basics right. But i managed to turn it around (with the help of others) for Sunday and played a lot better. Boosted my confidence massively.
Training Diary Saturday 15th February: GB Squad Day
A very intense day (didn't expect anything else).
Session 1: Fitness tests
3 sets of 5 pitch length sprints, with 1 minute rest. Haven't got times yet.
Session 2:
Attack and defense tactics/drills. I don't know how, but *something* clicked in my brain to do with attacking, and I feel much more confident with it now.
Session 3: Pool Session
Awareness drills, shooting/keeping drills, possession and games. Each drill/game we were working on specific things. I feel like I could have done better. I did some good things, but couldn't 'finish' them properly. I.e. win the ball back and then give a rubbish pass.
Training Diary Thursday 16th February
30 sprints, on the minute. Still not fast but I close the distance on the people in front with most of the sprints.
Training Diary Tuesday 11th February
Training at the lakes with Zoe and Rob.
We did 5 sets of 5 length sprints, with 1 minute rest in between, which I didn't time.
Then 5 sets of 10 pitch length sprints, 1 minute rest, times:
3:31, 3:29, 3:30, 3:29, 3:25 (pb)
It started hailing just as we were getting changed, and seeing Zoe dive into her boat and close the boat on herself to get changed was rather amusing.
