Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
An itinerant teacher — you might have called him “rabbi” in another time and place — sits down among a group of laborers. He offers a blessing, shares a meal, and speaks of other fields where ones wages earn more than daily bread.
Ears open, hearts turn...and like the mustard seed of the parable, the realization slowly takes root that the field to which we are called is no less than the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth — and it all begins with what we do and where we stand.
If this story sounds familiar, it shouldn’t. It’s millennia old...and as new as this moment. It’s the story, amid others like it, of Bob and Gracie Ekblad and Tierra Nueva, the “New Earth” in which the good seed thrives, and to which many laborers are called.
