Shocking?

Bob Tur, a helicopter pilot and newscaster known for coverage of the 1992 L.A. riots and the O.J. Simpson police chase, has come out as transgender and is currently transitioning to female. According to the Huffington Post, she is using the name Robert Zoey Tur on Facebook during her transition process.

Here in Southern California, the channel 2 news described this as "shocking." Really? So much for the alleged liberal bias of the "lamestream media." When will we reach the point where people are no longer "shocked" by this?

I didn't watch the newscast, so I didn't get to see whether they used obnoxious phrases like "he is now a she."
