On a genuine note do you think the way Tim dumped and ghosted her makes him fall into the category of men in her life who failed her like her dad and dean or not that far?
No, I don't think so. Partially because this is clearly just an author living her best life, so I'm still taking this with a grain of salt even if it is canon, and, more importantly, because while what Tim did was shitty and cruel (and out of character), I don't think it comes close to getting her pregnant and leaving town or abusing her for most of her life in one way or another. Tim was a bad boyfriend in that moment but he's not an abusive person.
