w.i.p of truth serum things because i have decided to lock in and make this more comic-like. have i ever drawn a comic before? mayhaps once. but i’ve realized this last month that so many people are interested in this idea, and as an ex-illustration major who felt like i wasn’t performing well compared to my classmates, the doodles i’ve drawn for this so far and the positive responses to it have been the biggest help to my creative flow. and you guys have been nothing but so nice and supportive, the least i can do is commit to this like you all have!
that means more art for this idea might take some more time. i’ll still post sketches and art of course, but be prepared for truth serum posts and updates to come a bit slower (or unless i’m answering an ask about it, because i’ll always try to do a truth serum doodle for every truth serum related ask 😭).
being creative has bobby looking like a mess right now (see below for super accurate ‘bobby is tired’ representation lol), but it’s all worth it. this is the most fun i’ve had creatively in a while. :)
yup. that’s me lolol
as always, if you have any questions or requests, please feel free to hit up my ask box! talk to you guys later! 🫶
just got my late christmas gifts from my friend — and whaddya know, one of the gifts is a keychain from my lovely and talented moot, @bowandbrush !
happy to have my interests understood and accepted by my friends, and also happy to see artists - whether my moots or not - be supported this holiday season. :)
it’s almost the new year where i’m at rn (9:43 pm to be exact), but for those already in 2026, happy new year! i’m hoping for nothing but peace, comfort, and happiness for all of you. 😊
someone tagged my drunk leo and donnie comic simply as “designated driver simulator” and it still makes me giggle bc. you’re so right, that’s basically what that whole thing was.
also, i think i’ve said this once but maybe not as plainly as it should have been, but just wanted to say that if you support tcest, please please please do not follow me. it is an unpleasant experience when i get a new follower notification, check out that account, and see that the first post pinned is a list of all the tcest ships that that account loves. firmly saying now that i am very much anti-tcest — i am not the space or fanartist for any of that.
finally have soaked in my first lightbox expo experience and. wow. i can genuinely, truly say that every cent i spent on the ticket plus everything at the event was so worth it.
everybody there was so nice; i only knew two people there, but they connected me with some amazing people who immediately welcomed me as if i had always been a part of their friend group. they kept tabs on me, gave me stickers they made, and helped me acclimate to the overwhelming environment that is a crowded artist alley lolol
the exhibitors were amazing — i both got the opportunity to meet idols i’ve followed online for the longest time, or were introduced to entirely new creators who i can’t believe i hadn’t been introduced to before. i met an artist who i immediately connected with because i noticed her art was inspired by genndy tartakovsky (a legend!), and spent 45$ on an art book from an artist who had the most eye catching color and character work i had ever seen… god, artist alley was the best part of lightbox for sure!!
my biggest regret is not asking enough questions, but that’s something i’ll be better prepared for next year (because you bet i’m going to make it my goal to go to all three days next year). i did get to be the hype woman to my amazingly talented friend, who passed out his comic and stickers to everyone he met, which made my experience all the more pleasant. i love supporting my friends in any way i can, and to be able to express my hype and joy for my friend’s art in front of all these industry professionals feels very rewarding (and they all liked his stuff too, so that’s a win!!)
and of course, meeting andy suriano was the highlight of my day. he was genuinely so kind and patient in talking to all the fans in line; i didn’t mind waiting a while for him to finish with the people in front of me, because i know how much it probably meant to those fans who got to spend unrushed time talking to him. i don’t know if it’s because i went to his booth very early on in the expo, but it was nice to see a creator take his time in connecting with his fans as opposed to trying to do whatever it takes to make money and get the line moving.
i was so nervous, and that i did say to him, because i have never met anybody who has created pieces of media i liked before. he was so understanding, and liked the print i made him so much that he took a photo of me with it! i look very chopped in the photo and right now i feel very embarrassed by it (but that’s purely a me thing, nothing against andy!), but the way he reacted to me handing him my art is something i will carry with me for a long time. :,)
he drew me two leos (because i brought my tmnt 40th anniversary comic, and he’ll draw you your fave character on the prints he brought) and i kid you not, he drew like drawing these characters was second nature to him. i’m pretty sure he was also surprised that i said my fave was leo, because i think up until then, everyone ahead of me was asking for him to draw donnie on their posters LOLOL i hope he got to draw equal amounts of the brothers these last few days 🫶
overall, i am so blown away by my first lightbox experience!! i will never stop raving about it, and absolutely cannot wait to attend again next year. if any of you here went, i hope you had just as much fun as i did, but if you haven’t yet, then please let this be your sign to go next year!
this weekend was the best. now we return to the grind! 💪
feeling a bit stagnant in my progress, so i decided to buy an anatomy for artists book and an intro figure drawings book to refreshen everything i learned… 5-6 years ago i think lolol
my anatomy and poses better increase ten fold or i’m suing /j
still kicking my feet and giggling at all the goodies @bowandbrush sent to me, all because i wanted to buy a new mikey keychain (i got him from a friend for christmas, put him on my purse for ONE DAY, then lost him 😭)
jokes aside, this haul truly made me entire week, as i’ve admittedly been going through some tough times irl. they did not need to give me as much as they did, but they still went ahead and sent me all these fun extras and drawings (they even drew alana!!! like look at my baby!!! aaaa!!!!). i’ve already talked their ear off in dms on how appreciative i am for everything they sent, but wanted to also bring it to the tl just so everyone knows my moot is so cool and kind and if you DON’T follow them, please do.
thank you b&b for everything!! ik you said not to but trust, i will find a way to repay your kindness somehow lolol
