Today, Jazz Chisholm Jr. makes Yankees history and becomes the third player to have a 30-30 season as he hits his 30th homer of the year. He joins Bobby Bonds and Alfonso Soriano in the record books!! Congratulations 🎊 Jazz!!

Bobby Bonds

Noted for his combination of power hitting and speed, he was the first player to have more than two seasons of 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, doing so a record five times ( the record was matched only by his son Barry) and was the first to accomplish the feat in both major leagues. He became the second player to hit 300 career home runs and steal 300 bases, joining Willie Mays.

Born Bobby Lee Bonds on March 15, 1946 in Riverside, California and died on August 23, 2003 in San Carlos, California at the age of 57.

#OnThisDay in @chicagocubs history ▸ Cubs’ outfielder Ande “Hawk” Dawson becomes a member of the 300/300 club, with his 300th stolen base, joining Bobby Bonds and Willie Mays to become the third major leaguer to reach the milestone.

Dawson’s 4th-inning steal put him in scoring position to tie the game on Damon Berryhill’s RBI double.  Building on the momentum, the Cubs go on to defeat the @mets 4-3 at Shea Stadium.

Prince Fielder hits his 300th career home run when he goes deep to right field off Mark Buehrle in the first inning of the Rangers’ 12-2 loss to Toronto at the Rogers Centre. The Rangers first baseman’s milestone shot makes him and his dad, Cecil (319), only the second father/son combo to hit 300-plus homers, joining Bobby and Barry Bonds.

It was a night game in Milwaukee and Hank Aaron was playing for the Brewers in the same city where he started his magnificent Hall of Fame career. That July 20, 1976 evening the guests were the California Angels.

There were just over 10,000 fans at County Stadium as these two sub-.500 teams met and it was the bottom of the 7th inning of a good game that had Milwaukee up, 2-1. Future Hall of Famer
