Dead Cells: Immortalis

I played enough of Dead Cells to know it wasn't my thing, but I'm always interested when a game gets an adaptation. So I set some time aside to watch the English dub of this show.

The end result is alright. I appreciate that it keeps the tone of the game, and opts to tell a different story free to make its own changes. The animation is simple but stylized enough to be awesome when it needs to, and there's actually a really good central relationship that forms the crux of the ending.

Speaking of: I think the ending should've been more depressing. It sets up events for a season 2 I didn't think this show needed, but the flaws of the main characters did cause the ending so I'm more mixed than negative.

I'm not going to watch any season 2, but this is short, sweet and hits just right. If season 2 is absolutely bonkers I may watch it, but for now I think it's a fun-enough product on its own.
