Hermione Granger? I guess impure means muggleborn
ohhh how did i not get that?!
Peter lockyer is also fiiiiiiiiiine as fuck damn
and very kind in person too! he kept asking everyone if we had fun, it was so sweet
i'm sad to see all his hair is gone though, it makes him look so different to his headshot, but it's nice that he did it to be more in character (he's got it all shaved off for his 1815 scenes like ramin's for those who haven't seen yet)
All my life I have wanted to go into musical theatre, and my mam always tries to tell me not to because its hard and she says im not as good as everyone else, but its truly what I want to do with my life whay should I do? Sorry to bother you xxxxxxx
You aren't bothering me at all, darling!
I'm technically not in musical theatre either, at least not to the degree a lot of the big names are. I didn't get into any conservatories or BFA programs, but that doesn't mean I'm not into it.
Your mum does have a point, musical theatre is hard, but so is everything in life. Furthermore, it's your life, not hers, and you are the one who gets to make that decision. And if anything, musical theatre actually helps you for life as a whole:
It teaches you how to handle rejection and take criticism, to work harder at everything, to always be finding ways to improve, ways to work with other people.
There is no one road to musical theatre other than this: Practice. Sign up for dance classes, vocal lessons, acting workshops, audition for everything that comes your way. E-mail directors to ask for feedback, work with people. Know that this is a business with many moving parts, and be prepared to be disappointed at times. You could go in and nail an audition, but you might not fit what the director has in mind for a certain part.
That doesn't make you a good or a bad performer. Musical theatre is not like sports, where you can measure who was the best. It's subjective, and your mum is not very nice to tell you you're not as good as everyone else. Think of it this way:
You are raw, untapped potential. You are a block of marble, and it's up to you to turn yourself into a masterpiece. Seek out other artists to help you carve out what you will be, but in the end, the results are going to be ones of your own making.
Break a leg!
