How adorable! This young wild dolphin calf was obsessed with playing with a leaf!
This was a truly special sight for me to witness and photograph. Although Bottlenose Dolphins are known for having curious and playful personalities, it appears people often mistake other behaviors (such as hunting, socializing, and even aggressive actions) as “play.” It’s not every day that I get to witness a wild dolphin actually having fun with a “toy” it found. So that made this a really special encounter :)
