Ṭhañgkā of Green Tārā
Green Tārā or Syāmtārā, bodhisattva goddess, emanation of the Buddha Amoghasiddhi presides over the south and is depicted in green. She is the bodhisattva representing enlightened activity and one of the most popular forms of Tārā. This exquisite ṭhañgkā is believed by some scholars to be the work of the celebrated Newāri artist Aniko who travelled from Nepāla to Tibet in the 13th Century.
