Check out the purple eyeshadow. I still rock that early/mid 1990s aesthetics. But, I am old, so...👵

Yeah, this cover is cheesy as hell, and so is the book. Still, one of the great things about it is after banging like seven times, the stoic warrior hero takes a brush and combs the knots out of the heroine's long hair. I melted.
Four for #coverlustfriday. A Victor Gadino, Elaine Duillo, Elaine Gignilliat, and a Walter Popp. I'm new to this, so hope I'm doing this right.🤔 #bookstagram #bodiceripper #bodicerippers #gothicromance #romancenovels #romancestagram #victorgadino #elaineduillo #elainegignilliat #walterpopp #oldskoolromance #sweetsavageflame https://www.instagram.com/p/CQjU-i-NMno/?utm_medium=tumblr

Pro tip: when you read shitty period romance novels regaurd it as satire and then it becomes brilliant once again.
So...the kids and I dug out a big tote of books that have been moving with me everywhere I go, some of them from when I was in middle school ages ago 😍 I am not at all surprised at how many of them are historical romance. 😂 My son asked me why the guys have no shirts on 🤣🤣🤣 HEY, some of them are wearing shirts. And who else loves Patricia Cornwell??? 🙌 She's the best! Also, I can't believe I was reading VC Andrews when I was 12...😱 Hiding those from my daughter... So if this pile sits here long enough, my husband will have to build me bookcases, right??? 😁🙌 that is all #bodicerippers #noshirtnecessary #bookworm #itwasalwaysbooksforme #betterthantv
There really was no reason she should be doing this today...
So, I came upon the idea of reading romance novels of all sorts because I was becoming increasingly bored with them. There seems to be a pattern in today's modern romance and I wanna spend my time looking at that pattern and figuring out why. Or how they evolved. Or just read them and laugh or weep if this is how we see love/lust/romance/etc. Romance novel are my dirty little secret. I have hundreds of them, thousands of them, all sitting silently on my little nook and hidden in my naughty drawer, swimming in my head as potential ideas for my own torrid affairs and badly drawn characters... there are some, however, that aren't that terrible. Personally, I think anything "written" by James Peterson is bull, so please realize that's my comparison for how bad a novel is. I'm gonna piss people off with my opinions, which I'm fine with.
I'm not sure how often I'll post, if at all. God knows I'm one lazy SOB. We shall see...
As stated in the byline, suggestions for novels (erotica, romance, bodice rippers, paranormal, whatever) are welcome.
