1. BUILD YOUR BODY CITY New York city didn't spring up overnight. No town does. Body love is the same way. It's also the same way in that it's built around one key thing. Cities are built where there's resources, like rivers, fertile land, or gold. Find the rivers of your body. Find one thing you like about your body. It can be anything. It doesn't have to be big. You can start with your legs, or you can start with a freckle on your lip. Once you find your "river" build on it! How does the rest of your body compliment that one feature you chose? Perhaps you're pals skin makes the freckle stand out more, or your hips look nice with your legs. You just continue to find things about your body that compliment each other, and you build in every direction you can. 2. BODY TALENT/ENJOYMENT What do you like to do? How is your body good at doing that? This one can be a little bit trickier, because sometimes your body hates what you love, like a violinist with a bad back. The cool thing about it though is you have a lot of options here. Your activity doesn't even have to be something impressive like sports or music, it can be as random as climbing a tree (that's what I used) You find something you enjoy doing and then you think about how your body is good at doing it and helps you do it. 3. """"LIE"""" TO YOURSELF Compliment your body everyday. Think good things about your body everyday. It will feel like you're lying, which can be discouraging, but it will get better. This is a more passive and slow approach. Like eroding away rocks, it's slow but powerful. 4. ACCEPT COMPLIMENTS This one is similar to 3, in that you'll feel like it's lies, and it's a slow process, but it still works. When someone compliments you, don't dismiss it any way. Accept the compliment from them, and then shut down your negative thoughts. It's almost certain that you'll say thank you but think they're lying. When you mentally dismiss the compliment, just correct yourself, or remind yourself that if they didn't mean it, they wouldn't have said it. 5. DONT.👏COMPARE.👏YOURSELF.👏TO.👏OTHERS.👏 This is such a crucial one! So many /different/ people are beautiful (you included) and by comparing yourself to someone you think that because you look /different/ you couldn't possibly be beautiful. It's sooo wrong though! There are so many types of beauty out there and so many /different/ things that are beautiful, that you can't assume you're not beautiful because you're not the same. 6. CUTE CLOTHES/UNDERWEAR Sometimes all you need is some cute underwear and a nice pair of jeans to help you appreciate your body more. I think of it as treating your body. Dress to impress yourself. These aren't perfect methods for everyone by any means, because we all function and think differently, they're just a few ways that I used to help myself! Like I said in the title, please feel free to add your own methods.
