Just because I’m a “bodyless entity” from “the pits of the void” who “collects the teeth of the holy” doesn’t mean I deserve to go unappreciated

Diese Passage aus "Lob des Schattens" hatte mich zu meiner Arbeit "body less" inspiriert.

What bee nightmares are made of
I am not talking about CCD, as scary as it is. Nor am i referring to the nastiness going on hive two. What i am most frightened of, is what happened on Saturday on my first inspection n weeks where I tested for varroa mites.
As noted it was very difficult to acquire the necessary 300 bees, and I certainly failed in doing so. While I continued to try, I gathered them in a makeshift plastic container. I would pull out a frame, rub the container up against the waxed comb, gather as many bees as possible, then put my hand over the top of the container in order to rap it down to see if I had e necessary (by volume) bee count. I never did, but when I put my hand over the top of the container, I inadvertently decapitated some bees - WHICH IS SAD ENOUGH.
The nightmare occurred when I look down upon my bee suit sleeve to see a bee with six legs, wings, antennae, a head.....BUT NO THORAX- NO BODY. I had a flying head with legs land on me.
I just felt sick, like I had done this terrible terrible thing to this undeserved creature. It reminded me of this sad mutant character from Toy Story and I carried a heavy heart since I saw it.
