Gentle reminder about body positivity:
Now that summer is approaching and it's getting hot, you'll start to see more people in shorts, skirts, dresses and other more revealing clothes.
Unshaved hairy legs are beautiful
Unshaved hairy arms are beautiful
Unshaved hairy torsos are beautiful
No one can tell you how to present yourself in public. You're beautiful, the entirety of you
I'm feeling fucking sad and I just want to cry, so here: let me make someone else feel better ♡
I have an actual list of things I hate physically about myself that I wrote on a bad day. I was convinced that I'm ugly inside and out that day. I cried a lot. I thought that plastic surgery could be my only way out. This list is only the surface of everything I fucking hate about myself. But...
Today, I looked in the mirror and I really liked my nose. My skin is all better as well. Nails still need some love, but I don't mind where they are at rn. Skin on my hands is soft and nice. My thighs aren't that bad. I realized I, like many people, like muffins. My belly is doing just fine. My lips are soft and shiny.
I realized my nose is a part of me that's specifically unique to my face and no one else has the exact same nose as I do. Similar maybe, but exact no. That's pretty fucking special and cool if you ask me. At the end of the day, if I changed it my face wouldn't be the same, which kind of means I wouldn't be the same. And I like me... ♡
My skin was so bad I thought there was no saving it, but it's getting better and better each and every day as I take good care of it and apply the right skin care. I'm so proud of my skin rn. I don't even have to wear makeup every day to feel secure. ♡
I found out that even my soft, weak ass nails can grow long and beautiful if I take care of them. ♡
As for the skin on my hands and lips, I started drinking water instead of processed sugary juice and sodas. I'm all hydrated now ♡
Water also helped my belly deflate and I started going to the gym. It's been two days, yes, but I'm already so much happier with my thighs and belly because I know I'm getting to my goal. ♡
To be honest, I'm what most people would call "good looking", but there was so much hate I had towards myself. Everyone, no matter if you're skinny, chubby, curvy, flat, pimply or super pretty... we all need to love ourselves. And for the longest time I had the wrong idea of what "self-love" is. It doesn't mean that you have to put yourself first or accept the things you don't like and just deal with it or that you have to think you're amazing and awesome. I still think I'm not perfect, but I like that. "Self-love" is about change. About being comfortable with who you are and what you look like. If you don't like the way you look, change it. If you don't like the way you behave, change it. You HAVE the power. Everyone can do it.
Our bodies can regenerate. I've proved it to myself. Your skin CAN get better. Your nails and hair CAN grow. Your body CAN shrink or enlarge. You can shed the "YOU" you hate and blossom into a "YOU" you are in love with. It's a matter of having patience and finding the right ways and being persistent.
So, please, don't stress about your outer appearance. You have the power to change it. You can regenerate. No matter how bad it is.
You can easily learn to love yourself on the outside, but the hard part comes with loving yourself on the inside. I am still working on this every day...
What even is "self-love from the inside"? Does it mean I have to think I'm a great person? Does it mean I have to think I'm a good friend, a good daughter, a good girlfriend, a good student? Do I have to love every single thing I do? No.
We're human, we make mistakes and we act on impulse. We can all be harsh, mean, rude, condescending... That doesn't make us bad people. You shouldn't hate yourself for it. As long as you can admit to it and apologize and own up... and most importantly forgive yourself.
Self-love from the inside, is about forgiveness. ♡
Forgive yourself for being lazy today. It's okay. Forgive yourself for not finishing all those tasks you had to do. It's okay. Forgive yourself for not wanting to go outside today. It's okay. Forgive yourself for eating so much food or not eating enough. It's okay. Forgive yourself for putting one friend as a priority over the other, or putting a girlfriend/boyfriend over a friend and vice versa. It's okay. When you forgive yourself, you will have inner peace and when you get that you can go out and fix your mistakes. You can then find the courage and strength to go and apologize to someone you hurt, you can talk it out with people and explain your feelings, you can get up and happily fo that thing you didn't do.
To love yourself from the inside means to be aware of your actions and emotions and to realize that it's okay and that you deserve and have the right to feel those feelings, even if they don't have a real reason to exist. Self-care isn't about becoming a perfect person, nor is it about giving up and living as you are trying to convince yourself you love that "YOU", even if you do not. It's about change and growth in the most beautiful imperfect way possible.
I cried today. I felt awful. Like a horrible human being. But.. I know I'm not. I know how freaking hard I worked on myself to be able to empathize with others and understand others and I know how much I am there for everyone all the time... Therefore I am able to forgive myself for getting offended and being a little selfish today. I know everything will be fine in the end. I forgive myself for crying today... It's okay. It will be okay in a few hours, like nothing happened.
It's hard, but even our souls can regenerate, just like our bodies. Like the weakest nails can grow long and beautiful with good care, the weakest soul can do the same. Like the hard flakey skin can be come soft and shiny, a hard cold mean soul can become soft and caring.
And even if none of this made any sense and didn't make you feel any better:
It's okay. ♡ I love you, even when you can't love yourself.
Always hated my thick thighs and my wide hips but I’m slowly learning about body positivity and loving myself just the way I am.
~ squishy ~
Learning to love my body more and more each day.
Have I gained a lot more weight over the years? Yes.
Will I keep putting myself down about it? No.
We all come in different shapes and sizes and it’s something so beautiful. Why live in a world where everyone looks the same or has the same body type? I have a new curvy look and in 2019 I am not afraid to show it. I am proud of who I am and what I look like. I will no longer let people bring me down about my weight. I also hope more people will eventually learn to love their bodies more.
Hopefully one day we can live in a world where fat/skinny shaming is no longer a thing.

About this cosplay (which is, actually, my first cosplay ever.)
You couldn't tell, but I really stepped out of my comfort zone (believe it or not, I still have one). I worked (while attending uni), I paid everything with my own money, and I crafted the rest. I lost 11 kgs in order to fit into this dress (around 24 lbs) and I plan to lose even more. I basically set this cosplay as a goal, and now that I am, well, on the verge of completing it, I couldn't be more proud of myself.
I don't usually share anything personal here but during these days I'm having the greatest mood ever.
Always be the better version of yourself.
