About the pov post;
I would say that instead of semantic shift, pov has gone through a semantic bleaching, akin to how five or six years ago every meme of a still image began with "nobody:"; it wasn't really indicating that the image is based on something that happens unexpectedly or unprompted, it really just signals that the image is a meme, using "nobody:" to make it look similar to other memes.
I'd argue that pov is going through a similar thing. Uf an interesting point that people that are "using it wrong" are actually just breakingupffi down the meaning and reconceptualising as to whose point of view the meme is from, but really I think it's just a three letter code that signals "this meme is based in real life".
For a lot of the people posting videos titled "POV" where the video is clearly second or third person, I don't think that it's necessarily that they're using it wrong, but I also don't think that they're
yeah i think i agree with a lot of this! id have to think abt it more but i do think its more than just "ugh theyre wrong" like, there is a legitimate linguistic style being used here, the addition of "pov" adds a certain element to the humor (to me at least) that i think removing it either requires the entire prompt to be rewritten, or loses a lot the punchline appeal,
i think getting annoyed by it and using it as an example of Growing Idiocy In Society is the complete wrong way to go about it and feeds more into reactionary/bigoted beliefs than it does productive and healthier ones but that part is kind of a hot take, hotter than "pov isnt that bad"
edit: oops srry i saw your ask wasnt finished, heres the ohter one you sent
