what are your top five gilmore girls episodes?

1. pilot

my favorite gilmore girls episode ! one of my favorite pilot episodes ! i just think it's such a good introduction to the characters and the vibe of the show ! not to mention, pilot rory gilmore, who is so special and loved by me <3 your snark and loner behavior will forever be remembered ! and you can see the beginning fractures with lorelai and rory's relationship, "i'm not you !"

2. a-tisket, a-tasket

big fan of rory & jess and this is kind of thee rory & jess episode for me <3 like i mean jess spent $90 just to hang out with rory ! they're bonding over their love of books ! "ernest only has lovely things to say about you" ! apparently they went out for pizza and book shopping ! is there anything more beautiful ? !

3. the road trip to harvard

the lorelai and rory dynamic here is something to be studied i think ! rory gets to see how much she'd thrive while lorelai gets hit with all she could've been (particularly with that one scene where she looks at the valedictorian of her graduating class (or more so what was supposed to be)) 🚬😔 and also rory's i was counting on this ! when she's trying to confront lorelai about running away, and it's like ahhh ! she just wanted that stability and have a father in a sense

4. lorelai's graduation

okay another iconic rory & jess episode <3 they're so cute as they have a fun little time in new york <3 WHY DID YOU COME HERE BC YOU DIDNT YOU SAY GOODBYE BYE RORY BYE JESS, i need a moment ! they deserved more fun times just hanging out and being cute <3 but also the spiral that rory goes through at the end of the episode is quite fascinating like putting her under a microscope and studying her !

5. in the clamor and the clangor

i'm giving it this spot simply for the lane kim of it all 🚬🚬😔 bc what if you simply cannot be the daughter that your parents expect you to be but you still try so so hard to be that person for them and you'll hide yourself constantly so they'll never find out bc how could you possibly disappoint them like that after all they've done for you but you still want all that you want and what if your facade comes crashing down bc they've discovered all that you've hidden in all those nooks and crannies and you desperately want them to be okay with it all but it turns out you were right to hide bc they refuse to accept you as you are or whatever

Nonfiction! It Came From The Closet: Queer Reflections On Horror (various authors)

Fiction! Rose/House by Arkady Martine. it's a novella, it's kind of a haunted house story but not exactly, and the prose is GORGEOUS. This author also wrote a sci-fi series all my friends love, which I have not read yet, but it comes highly recommended by people I trust.

Quilt, moonlit, flannel?

quilt - how do you take your tea (or coffee)? decaf with copious amounts of sugar. herbal tea (sorry, tisanes) taste weird with milk imo. the once a month in the summer or whatever when i have an iced coffee it’s basically just melted coffee ice cream. i drown it in cream and sugar. i do not enjoy the bean juice and i can have a very limited amount of caffeine.

moonlit - are you a neat or messy person? Is your room / house orderly? if i am in the Throes of Creation, shit’s just gonna be everywhere for a bit. i try to reset the Creation Space at the end of the day but sometimes things gotta set/stay clamped/be otherwise out for a while, yanno? otherwise i’m pretty tidy. i have unreasonable expectations for kitchen cleanliness when i live with other people but that’s bc i used to do food service.

flannel - have you ever gone on a bad date? i’m gonna be twenty fuckin six in a month and a half i have been on MANY bad dates

i have very bad joints, so today i feel very old bc i can hear my knees click as i walk. i don’t generally think much about my age (twenty-five). people fall into three categories for me: younger than me (baby), older than my dad (mid-fifties-infinity), and everyone in between is ????
