After a disappointing run by Kissed By Angels in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, Monday’s cards offer only a few value bets. Manatee Bay, David Nicholls’s 5-year-old (with Franny Norton on board) is tempting at Carlisle (14.35), but not at 7/2. Meanwhile at Redcar, David Barron’s 2-year-old La Asomada is open to big improvement from a stable with a great record at the track (and good value at 8-1). Also at Windsor is Farletti, a 3-year-old from Andrew Balding who also boasts a great set of stats at the course and another open to improvement on a mark of 68. Finally, back at Redcar at 4.30, Bold Captain, John Quinn’s 4-year-old is another horse who connections believe will return to stronger form, dropping back to 7f.
