Lenin and the Bolsheviks
In April 16 1917 he returned to Russia. Nicolas ii was abdicated exactly month ago, March 16. Lenin opposed the first world war as it was an imperialistic decision. It was simply to gain the people's support and he did it for his own gain. It was to distract the people from the real issue. Lenin did not approve so he asked the soldiers to oppose the war by turning their guns to the capatilist leaders.
