Still Tangled Up In You || @boltsandashes || Carol & Daryl & Rick
Carol's fingers touched the hem of the shirt she'd picked from the clothes that the women in Alexandria had gathered for her to pick from. It wasn't anything like she would have picked out on her own had she gone shopping at the mall for clothes. She could see Daryl's face already in her mind. She knew he didn't approve of the character she was trying to portray, but until they knew more about these people, she would keep up the act.
She moved from her room, passing Rick's room where she heard him trying to dress Judith whom she could tell wasn't exactly cooperating. She almost paused to offer assistance, but she thought better of it and moved down the stairs to see if she could catch Daryl in the kitchen.
She smiled as stepped into the open and airy kitchen. She followed her nose to the coffee pot where she poured herself a full mug of what she hoped was strong coffee. She could only hope that it was Daryl that had prepared it and not Rick. Try as she might, she still couldn't teach the man how to brew a good pot of coffee. Most of the time it was barely drinkable.
She waved at Daryl as she saw him at the table. Of course, there were bolts and his bow spread out across the table in front of him. She smirked as she moved toward the table to join him. "Judith's giving Rick a hard time upstairs. I tiptoed right past so he could bond with his baby girl," she teased. She moved her hand along his shoulder from his right one to his left, giving it a squeeze before she let her hand move to the back of the chair beside him and pull it out.
She sat herself down, crossing her feet at the ankles. She held the mug with both hands, letting it warm them. "How long you been awake?" She nodded toward his spread out things that he'd either been cleaning or repairing.
