Aww, heck. Thanks, you two. :) I gave into my desire for delicious, delicious comments--nobody comments on my dA uploads--so here 'tis.

Not perfect, though. Kyro pointed out a bunch of great stuff to me, about the beginning being too long/too slow and the nature of the monster being a bit too confused. Not enough that I think it torpedoes the story, but yeah, if I wasn't so wiped out from writing this--nearly 5k words in a bit over a week is a lot more intense than my usual writing schedule--I'd probably go back and do one more round of revisions. Oh, well.

Buffy def has problematic elements that deserve examining, as does all of Joss’ stuff. Thanks for sharing!

I don't know Buffy well enough to know first-hand--I've only seen a handful of episodes--but all of the things Jenny Trout's been pointing out make a lot of sense to me. And I like that she's obviously so in love with the show. It's different reading something that's written by a fan than written by someone who isn't.
