Powai lake is an artificial lake built by the British for over 214 years now. IIT Mumbai and NITE education Centres are situated around the lake. So after an exhausting session, a couple of minutes admiring the view makes your day a lot more better. Amphibians and acquatic plants are the common residents in this beautiful neighbourhood. Crocodiles, Kingfishers,White Browed bulbul and Falcon are some of the animals and birds spotted at the lake. Photographers have a gala time capturing the beautiful pink and purple balsam bushes which attract Honeybees, Bumblebees, Beetles and colourful Butterflies.
