Perhaps her tone had been far too harsh. Even so the reaction she got was very unexpected. No fire, no glinting gold, but instead, a smouldering glance away and a soft voice. Sienna was small. It was no shape for her to be in.
It was almost unsettling. Senka had overstepped a boundary, and now it was time to take that step back and make it right. This was not her intent, but the impact on the other was far more important. The thief’s expression softened, absent of her usual prodding and witticisms.
“I’m done.”
The faunus put a slow, gentle hand on the other’s shoulder and a voice that matched in tone. “You, on the other hand, have something you need a listening ear for. If you want mine.”
The woman lowered her head just a bit, as if to lower herself in humility as a peace offering, waiting for Sienna to look back at her.
“Where is someplace to go where you feel comfortable speaking without worrying about the walls listening?”
Senka could wait.
