well…… honestly, toushiro has only seen with his own eyes the release of ryūjin jakka three times in his time as captain of the gotei 13. and all those times it was just the shikai the elder shinigami was activating…. so, no. not really.
there been no opportunities for hyourinmaru and him to clash, they are in the same side after all, and yamamoto does not have the habit of sparring with his subordinates either. ( his apprentices are a different history, and them, he hasn’t actively sparred against in centuries ).
even then. it’s difficult for toushiro not to be wary of ryūjin jakka and its strength.
their zanpakuto are polar opposites, radical sides of the same coin in ability— yet, the fact is that, for all that hyourinmaru is considered the most powerful of all ice - based weapons, and has the potential to become even more…
yamamoto has had eons to train and shape and master his powers. and, faced with that, there’s little to nothing toushiro can do to counteract that much strength and experience. he knows there’s just no way his zanpakuto could ever overcome the phoenix’s flames. the gap between them is too wide.
thus. even though he knows, he knows, it will never happen because the possibilities of a fight between them happening are all but null, toushiro can’t help the thrill of fear curling around his chest whenever he is around the general.
