Assignment 7 Chi Square test
I will compare the variables 1) Employment and HIV and 2) Employment and Suicide.
Employment and HIV
H(0): There is no relationship between Employment groups and HIV groups.
H(0): There is a relationship between Employment groups and HIV groups.
From here it appears that the p is statistical significant. However we need to find out where the difference is. As I have more then 2 levels in my explanatory variable, I need to do a post hoc test to avoid excess Type 1 error. The adjusted p-value should hence be less then 0,05/6 = 0,008 (I have 4 levels in my explanatory variable and will thus need to do 6 comparisons).
Below you will find the table that shows my results:
So from here, we can see that the p value is NOT significant, hence we cant reject H(0), that is there is no relationship between Employment groups and HIV groups.
