Assignment 6: Analysis of ANOVA
When performing an ANOVA, we use an categorical explanatory variable, while the response variavle is quantitative. I have previously grouped my employment variable (according to quartiles), and therefore I shall use this as my explanatory variable. And use Breast Cancer as my response variable.
Employment and Breast Cancer
H(0) = There is no association between the Breast Cancer Incidence among the different Employment groups.
H(alt) = There is an association between the Breast Cancer Incidence among the different Employment groups.
The obtained results are seen below:
We see from here that the F-value is 4,69, and p = 0,0036, which means that we can reject H(0) and accept H(alt), which states that there is an association between the Breast Cancer Incidene among the different Employment groups. If I chose to accept the H(0), I would be wrong 0,36 times out of 100 times or 3,6 times out of 1000 times.
From the table we see that the mean for women from Employment group 4 is much smaller then the remaining groups, which may indicate in a way that countries with high employmentrate are subject to lower incidence of Breast Cancer. To be completely sure, we need to make a post hoc paired comparison Test. So I a Duncan test, and find out that I was right.
The mean in Employment group 4 (B) is significantly smaller then the three groups with the letters A.
