Serving as an ongoing showcase for some of the best and heaviest bands emerging from the underground, each installment of Second Coming of Heavy shines a light on bands worthy of your attention. Consisting of one 12” slab of gorgeous coloured vinyl with beautiful artwork by Ghost Town Graphics, the series is designed to be saved and treasured, much like a fine anthology of books. When the albums are filed next to each other, the aligned spines form a stunning image direct from the underground.

Bands already featured in the series include Geezer, Borracho, Supervoid, Red Desert, Kingnomad, Bonehawk, Red Mesa, Blue Sanggletooth, Fuzz Evil, Switchblade Jesus plus a whole host of others. For this latest installment, it’s the turn of Massachusetts’ sonic explorers Palace In Thunderland and Scandinavian stoners The W Likes.

The Second Coming Of Heavy; Chapter X – the final chapter in the project – sees its official release on 13th September 2019 and is limited to 300 copies in three alternative versions (100 of each, as did all previous chapters before it) – The Resurrection Edition, The Risen OBI and The Ascension Edition - with no repressings, ever.

20 MD 20/20 Bands That Made Me Forget About Work In 2020

These are the bands in 2020 that helped me forget about work while I was at work. I was lucky enough to stay employed during the pandemic. That's not to say I didnt suffer more anxiety and stress because of it. My day job is much like my night job. It is fun. It is hard work, but it is fun. It's not photographing bands and seeing live shows by any means, but I work in a motorcycle shop.

Thurday is my Music Day at the shop, so when it is Thursday I blast these for the guys and when I spend an hour two in my office these bands keep my peace. When I'm on deliveries throughout all of Virginia and North Carolina, I blast these guys. Some of them are Doomed and Stoned Fest alumni and all of them hold dear to my heart and consider part of my consulate via RiverCity Doom Consulate (my Instagram "brand").

As time goes on, more and more get added to my database of tunes I love. My mind is open and my ears are open. I'm always Hunting for more tunes.
