     The moment of truth!

     Had Nobunaga been drinking tea, they would’ve choked on it and hopefully turn into rare mana prisms just so that they could avoid having this conversation with the Berserker. Honestly, that thing happened hundreds of years ago! Why does Katsuzu want to hear about it now of all times? Becoming an Avenger was enough karma for their actions so why is Katsuzu going there? So annoying!

     Even if all the Nobunagas of past, present, and future amalgamed in the Avenger were sweating bullets at that precise moment, the Demon King used all of their willpower to put a poker face and remain as cool as they could. The fact that they were human-shaped flames didn’t help much in that aspect. Even so, the Demon King glared at the Berserker to stop him from saying anything more. ( As if they had any right to shut him up! )

     “You, Ranmaru and your other brothers were exceptional and loyal officers of mine. I don’t believe in divine providence but I do consider myself lucky to have had the Mori family on my side. The loyalty you and your brothers gave me is something I’m grateful for. Do we really need to be asking of the past when what truly matters has already been said and done?” Nobunaga had not a single clue of what the hell they were saying. These types of emotional speeches weren’t like them but as long as Katsuzu didn’t bring up Ranmaru anymore...

     “But I see doubt in your eyes. If there’s something you doubt of me, something you want to accuse me of, feel free to speak your mind. I’m willing to sit down and listen to everything you have to say.” No, they aren’t! Katsuzu, don’t you dare mention your brother again! Stepping into the Berserker’s personal space, the Avenger brought a hand to the other’s bangs and gently moved it to the side. “Actually, how long has it been since we last held a tea ceremony? I miss spending time with one of my best officers.”

     The sides of their mouth curve into a grin while their crimson eyes gleamed with amusement. “Or could it be that you think that I was playing favorites? How strange, I didn’t take you for the jealous type. And I must say that it doesn’t suit your handsome face... Ah, but it’s my mistake too for not noticing before. Should we make up for the lost time? You see, if it’s my attention what you desired, you have got all of it now.”
