Who: Emmeline Vance & Edgar Bones When: July 13th, 1979. Where: The MacMillan Wedding.
Emmeline had never been to a wedding so beautiful, and the event had hardly started. Truth be told, she had felt slightly out of place walking up the pristine drive toward the beautiful manor home in a borrowed dress and heels. She’d felt something of an imposter, dressed as though she might belong, but the manor was a far cry from the humble home she had always known, the wealth and lifestyle of pureblood society incredibly foreign to her. And yet, she had so quickly found herself at home amongst the familiar faces roaming about the manor and the gardens as she wandered the beautiful scene.
It hadn’t been long before a friend pulled her over to the bar for a drink and small talk before rushing off to greet this person or that. And so she stood, alone, her gaze roaming over the sight of friends talking and laughing with one another as music and the sweet smell of the fresh flowers filled the air. Emmeline felt as if she’d stumbled into some sort of dream-world, half-expecting it to disappear each time she blinked and surprisingly relieved when it did not. As she took in the detail of the wedding and the friendly faces amongst the crowd, wanting to immortalize the moment of happiness in her memory, Emmeline found there was one face in particular she wondered if she might find. He was easy to spot, as he always was for some reason, and catching his eye, Emmeline lifted a hand as she smiled in Bones’s direction.
