Thanks so much for the tag, @iamthe-wo-manwhocan, this was so much fun!
Name: Lauren (BonkyBornes)
Two shot: I’ve yet to write a two-shot. I’ve only done multi-chaptered or one-shots, but maybe if I can think of a good enough plot, I’ll revisit my Soulmates AU. That would be fun
Most popular multi chaptered fic: It’s definitely To Wake Up Again. It’s actually the first fic that I’ve ever successfully started writing (the first was a Pirates of the Caribbean fic that we’re not going to talk about, although the writing is actually good). It’s the Stucky Healing fic that I wanted to read, so I wrote it. They get dogs and Bucky has a lot of plants, and they go to therapy, and they just have time to deal with things that the Russos didn’t want to think about.
Actual worst part of writing: Doubting myself. Sure, I went to school for this, but sometimes it’s hard to remember that I’m actually good, ya know?
That, or knowing exactly where you want to go, but not knowing how to get there. It’s frustrating.
How you choose your titles: Um, it’s a toss up between dialogue or song lyrics. Titles are the worst.
Do you outline: Yes and no. When I start, I’ll let the piece take me where it wants to go, and then when I have more of an idea of what’s happening, I’ll start a small outline of bullet points. Ideas usually come with just an opening line or something, so I just start writing and see what happens. So, sometimes I’ll think I’m writing a comedy, and it turns into a really complex angst filled soulmate au, but hey, what can you do about it?
Ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice: Knowing me and how much I want it, I’ll probably write it (I swear I’ll get back to my novel eventually). It’s a Stucky roadtrip AU titled Run Away With Me. The boys start off as unfortunate friends and they’re forced on this roadtrip by Sam and Natasha. Neither of them want to go, because they don’t particularly like each other, but as the trip continues, things happen ;)
Call outs @me: My brain is a convoluted mess, and sometimes that turns into sentences I think make sense while writing, but I’ll go back and read them and question what I was on while writing.
I also can have a difficult time staying focused on the heart of the piece because I’m so interested in exploring the characters and their world, and I can write scenes that are good and interesting but don’t matter to the main plot.
Fuck, I’m also really bad at writing short things.
Best writing traits: Well, I finally have a writing habit now, so that’s good. But I think my best feature is my character work. I’m fascinated by exploring character psyche and motivation and I will really dig into what makes a character tick and flesh them out. If it includes research, even better.
Spicy tangential opinion: Write what you want to read because that’s what you’re going to have the most fun with. In the end, you’re writing for yourself because you love the craft. Yes, having people read and comment and love your work is amazing and it helps fuel you, but numbers aren’t everything. You have to remember why you started writing in the first place. Write for you first, and readers second. (Harder said than done sometimes, I know).
I don’t know whose already been tagged, but if you want to answer, it’s kinda fun: @prewarstucky, @soft-and-certain, @not-withoutyou. No pressure. If anyone else wants to, go right ahead
