Bonnaroo is in like 3 weeks and I got my flight back home and I'm so pumped that it's happening AGAIN
The first official day of Bonnaroo, my volunteer position was to not let cars pass. A human parking cone. Shift started at midnight, Wednesday, and lasted until 6 am, Thursday. It was cold. So cold I could see my breath. Tennessee in June is normally not that cold.
The majority of the time I sat under a street light and read the Economist. Every couple hours someone would stop by with a question I couldn’t answer. I was wearing a volunteer t-shirt but I had no information. I felt useless. But not alone. There were about 10 other volunteers under the tent.
There was a massive army of volunteers. They all lived in a part of the farm that was very far from the entry. Two members of our parties have disabilities so we lived in a part of the farm that was very close to the entry. Same with our volunteer station. 2017 will be similar, but different in size. They have already closed volunteer opportunities where as last year they didn’t until May.
I am so excited for 2017. I have so many projects to finish. I can check off organizing pictures from 2013 and 2016. I can almost check off my jammies. After, I met with my oldest friend and showed her my booty. She helped design a t-short ‘get-up’ pairing Bonnaroo with the Rock the Garden t-shirt we got for volunteering a few years back. I already had the shorts done, but I kept the scraps.

Expressing emotions to friends is often difficult. For Bonnaroo 2016, my friend and I decided to embrace our inner boy. This lead to using pictures of random things at Bonnaroo we thought matched our feelings.
